Full ack... the best way to get an inexpensive good suit is to make it by yourself...

@Orlando: You've been 17? I always thought you're much older :)

Well I'm 23 now!
I guess I've just always had a mature online presence haha.
BTW, it's pretty amazing; the changes within 6 years. Between then and now I failed college, moved, worked, got back into college, and am studying to be a professional costume designer. Go figure ;)
It all started in that one thread...

BTW, here was my second 100% hand-made spiderman suit from 2007 (I think the materials for this were under $150)...
... And a pretty vast quality improvement over my first suit:

Hehe... funny... NO changes here for me in the last 6 (or 10 since this thread started) years... same job... still not very much hair... and still searching for the PERFECT suit... :)
Ok... i've moved twice... last time is 5 years ago.

thanx for the advice..and dude! u made that when u were 17? that is beyond badass!
I think that's the most impressive thing i've ever seen someone do at that age lol.
and seeing as how you are studying to be a professional costume desire perhaps i should just have u make a costume for me :P

It might have cost less then $300 in materials for Orlando to make his own suit, but making one for some else is a whole creature. He'd then have to input his time into the process and making a quality suit like that takes A LOT of time. Your best option is to do it yourself if you've a $300 budget.

well I was jokingly saying that he shouldmake a suit for me lol. and unfortunatekly atm i do not have a $300 budget...
looks like i'll just have to settle for one of the costumes being sold byonline stores for now.

Speaking of dye-sub comic spider-man costumes.... here's our latest version:

We brightened the colors from our previous pattern and thickened up the lines to have a more comic look.

This is being sewn up as we speak.

LOL...and I was anxious to ask you that question Brad. But now that you mentioned it and brought it up to my attention I guess its ok to ask.

Are you looking to make suits in pieces in the near future instead of a one or two piece suit I would love to see how your suits turn out as a 7 piece suit using Stur-ups and Clip-ons where the gloves come off the mask the boots, pants..etc im sure you get the point.. Although, I also do see your point in keeping the movie suit design as a one piece very simple..but then again when a 5 or 7 piece design movie suit comes along?? :woot: Maybe in the future you could show us something like this in either Urethane or Printed that would really be something to look foward to seeing with your designs.:woot:

holy cow...id be willing to pay a good some of money for a suit exactly like this someday.

Hey Guys,
It's been quite a while since ive posted on here but I figured why not drop by and share a few fun pics from some good 'ole Spidey fun I've had over the past couple years...
I spent some time in New York taking classes and while there I decided to give the whole "times square spidey" thing a try, considering I could use the extra few bucks and the SpiderMan at the time there was nuthin too special. Anywhoo here's a few pics one with me and the other spidey, who day got pretty angry for me taking his corner by accident lol.

And I got caught on the subway a few times...

And here's a pic from a kids camp "heroes day" thingy

So yeah, fun times over the past couple years. Before this past halloween I actually ended up converting the suit to a 2 piece, just so it could be more enjoyable for me to wear in social gatherings and maybe have a drink or 2 ;) haha. But I had some nice materials to work with so it turned out pretty good. I'll have to get a couple pics with it now to show how it looks.

i may have over looked it but who made the costume it is great :)

Chris! one of the originals... good to see you man.

What'd you ever wind up doing with the faceshell? You and I are lucky with good spidey shaped heads lol :woot:

Ohh I've still got it sitting around, but thats about it for it lol. Was just never a fan of using it.

I've always wondered... what's the visibility of those lenses in the mask..? Pretty clear..? Cloudy..? :S

Depending on who's making it it can be VERY clear or not clear at all. The tighter and more "pure white" the look, often the less the visibility - just as a general rule.

It's an Ollie, or OVDH suit. Got it second hand.

One of Ollies older suits before he tackled changing his webbing molds which lead to weaker webs for his later suits. I'm impressed with the life cycle of the webbing on that suit. Wish mine held up that well.

The palms of the gloves are very motorcycle inspired.

Wasnt the molds that caused the problem. It would have old urethane that was exposed to moisture proir to usage.

Here's sneak look at the latest design I'm working on.
