And with Rob Reiner returning to direct? Works for me.

I don’t know how well these comedy legacy sequels fare, but I sure as heck would like to give this one a shot!

Hoping for the best, but I've been burned by too many too little too late comedy sequels to really get excited for this.

Spinal Tap is so great and such a classic, why mess with that? If they must make this sequel, I sure hope they have a fantastic script to justify it's existence :wow:

As much as legacy sequels, and comedy sequels in general tbh, make this feel like a risky proposition, all the right people are involved, so there’s that.

And honestly, I feel like this is the perfect project to lean into that awkwardness. Spinal Tap is already supposed to be a rather pitiful band. Showing how they’ve only gotten more pathetic in almost 40 years will probably make for good material.

If they do it, I hope that, on a scale of 1-10, that it's an 11.

I guess being a mockumentary does help in this case rather than having to rely on the same tired recycled jokes that you'd see in other comedy sequels.

I guess since they have better treatments for herpes these days, they won't have to trot that one out.

Honestly, I haven't even thought about that movie for ages, but there were so many bizarro situations, I'm laughing right now.

Stonehenge......LOL

My personal favorite gag was Derek getting stuck in the pod and only getting released at the very end of the song.

I also love the Simpsons episode where Bart and Milhouse see Spinal Tap, which I do consider to be an extension of the movie since the main three cast members are there.

"Good night, Springton! There will be no encores!"

Like I said originally, I think the fact that the band is supposed to be kind of pathetic anyway gives this project the best chance of just about any legacy comedy sequel.

Somehow I'm just hearing of this.

They've consistently kept these characters going over the years so I wouldn't exactly say this is a legacy sequel.

I totally forgot this was happening.

I totally forgot Bleecker Street still existed.
