I love Conan but he wouldnt have done well at all at the Oscars. There way too staunch and his wacky style might not click (Well I KNOW it wouldnt click. smh@ him trying to do the thong dance, while Dame Helen Mirren would look at him all ). Stewart was simply brilliant because he can switch gears for audiences. He definetly did a good job.

I think Conan can turn it on and off depending on the audience though. He's interviewed most of the people that attend the Oscars at least once, and they all know him and what he's like. His ad-libs regarding whenever the script doesn't go according to plan would play well.

Nah, I cant see a room of people like Sean Penn (he who demanded that he see every joke Chris Rock planned for his monologue a couple of years back to clear) or Dame Helen Mirren or Daniel Day Lewis or some of the foreign actors getting him. Dude doesnt really get A List people like Dave and Jay do (dont get me wrong he gets a few but comparaibly speaking? nah). It would be too tough and there's no way there getting the dude who had Triumph and the masterbating Bear to host there show.

Conan's my dude, but nah.

Are you kidding Dame Helen Mirren isn't uptight at all. Watch her Craig Fergouson interview. Plus Jonothan Ross who presents the Bafta's has a crazy sense of humour too and they let him present. Hell Ross scares the hell out of half the hollywood actors on his show.

Most European actors are not like Sean Penn they can laugh at themselves. Most British actors are quite laid back.

So appearntly this was the least viewed Oscars. Guess people dont people dont give a **** about movies and actors there not familar with. Damn shame... Especially when last year's was the highest viewed in decades or something.

I gotta attribute a lot of it to Stewart. I'm guessing the later 2 hour's numbers were a huge drop because Stewart was so painful to watch. Its not really his fault. He had a horrible script that was clearly phoned in following the strike. Conan would've been able to adlib when it was evident that the script was not working. And I think you see actors as way too stuck up Ludacris. Most of them do have a sense of humor about themselves, like most people. Sean Penn is just an exception.

Nah I dont think John had anything to do with it, he hosted a couple of years back and they still had steady ratings. Seems most of the press are attributing it to the fact that most people werent familar with the foreign actors who were the favourites and most of the movies (sans Juno) really werent Box Office smashes (I mean NCFOM only made like $1.2 mil first week or something according to the Times).

And there's not a snowball's chance in hell of Conan doing this show. I love him and I think he's the younger generation's answer to Leterman,but he's just not Oscar host material. The Academy is too bouge for him and the international press wont even know what to make of him (expect maybe Finland....)

Swinton is really ugly, but at the same time she has a unique weird face that you sorta like. She was amazing as the White Witch. Ruthless *****.
