Wolverine loosing his adamantium claws? I know he grows back his natural claws... I was kinda bummed about it.... At first I felt, well he only lost one set.... but then he lost both.

I don't mind, because they clearly intend to do something with the whole idea in X-DoFP. Plus, it served TW itself, as part of the deconstruction process of the character.

Stripped him of his immortality AND his adamantium. Excellent stuff.

I cringed more at that whole 'drilling into his bones' thing that was going on even more than Logan's earlier do-it-yourself heart surgery scene (although that was no picnic either).

I was not expecting either of those things to happen, but I'm guessing wherever it goes from here gets sorted out in DOFP.

It's interesting that there are at least two years where he just has the bone claws, though...

I was hoping he had the adamantium back in the mid credit scene. I'm bothered by it but I'm sure it will get sorted out later. ....hopefully.

Speaking of the bone claws, I loved that shot of Wolverine holding himself up in the well just by the bone claws in the opening scenes.

As soon as he said, "You're not going to want to watch this!", my sister said she assumed he was talking to her and hid her eyes for the rest of that scene.

I think it's pretty cool that he has bone claws again. If he has to go back to the early 70s in DOFP, isn't it possible that we'll see them again anyway, presuming that it's before the Weapon X surgery?

Yup. Weapon X incident was in the 80s, so he'll probably have bone claws.

Yea I dont get why they went that route to be honest. Now he has a metal skeleton but his claws are bone. I hope Singer finds a way to fix it. Maybe they can just pump the liquid adamantium back on to his claws since he wouldnt need it anywhere else. He just isnt the same character without the adamantium.

Wolverine just isnt Wolverine without Adamantium claws. The storyline of Magneto removing it was fun and served a purpose in the comics but The Wolverine isnt the final movie for him so I do not know why they went down that road. I hope it gets fixed in DoFP.

Wolverine just isnt Wolverine without Adamantium claws. The storyline of Magneto removing it was fun and served a purpose in the comics but The Wolverine isnt the final movie for him so I do not know why they went down that road. I hope it gets fixed in DoFP.

Well, I disagree and it served a purpose in the movie, too. Plus, the comics where he lost it weren't the final comics for him, so it's 100% the same deal as what you're describing.

What I love about the whole bone claws situation is that it plays thematically into the film big time. But, if you discount Origins Wolverine and just use the flashbacks from X-Men and X2 as the official backstory of Logan, seeing the bone claws for the first time in this film is really interesting. It doesn't feel out of place.

I know it technically ties into Origins Wolverine but because that's the only thing they reference from that movie, I think it plays as a nice revelation for people who haven't seen that film or who just discount it....like me.

Yup. Weapon X incident was in the 80s, so he'll probably have bone claws.

If you go by the timeline set in X-Men, he shouldn't get the adamantium claws until sometime in the 80's, so yeah, it doesn't screw with anything.

If I remember correctly, in X-Men, Xavier states that it's been fifteen years since Logan lost his memory. Well, depending on what year you think the events of X-Men started, he gets his claws sometime in the 80's....late 80's maybe.

Still, it all works.
