Squadron Supreme

I want to rewind time so I can kick the person's, who thought that ruining the Supreme Power universe by adding it into the main Marvel universe, pregnant mother in the stomach thus aborting them and avoiding such suckage as Squadron Supreme.

Well... now everyone who liked Supreme Power has a good reason to flame the Ultimate Universe at that "Finch says no more" thread... besides the usual, it sucks.

Hush! I need something concrete to blame and not just a series of editors and writers that make decisions over at Marvel.

Nobody ever added the Supreme Power universe to the main Marvel universe.

Oh, well yeah, that was the beginning of the end. Not because it left the MAX line, to be honest. More because JMS just kind of sputtered out of ideas around there and then abandoned the series altogether. Plus, Hyperion was by far the most compelling character of the series, and then when it came off of MAX it focused on him less and less in favor of random other Squadron Supreme people, who weren't nearly as interesting. The change in that basic formula of the book ruined it more than losing the boobs and swearing, as far as I'm concerned.

I liked Hyperion but was way more into Doc Spectrum. His mini was amazing

Not so much into his fish-****e though

Yeah, I should amend my statement--Hyperion, Doc Spectrum, Blur, Power Princess, and Nighthawk formed a great core of characters rife for further exploration in Supreme Power. But then the title switched to Squadron Supreme and I guess JMS felt obligated to bring more of the Squadron members into the fold, and the whole thing fell apart. The only really interesting addition to the cast after the title change was Emil Burbank. Inertia was okay too, but her backstory's kind of been done to death. The rest were still just really transparent analogues of their DC bases.

They tried to turn a 5-man Justice League into the 40-man Justice Society too quickly.

Also, Nighthawk and PP FTL

um, what?

Zarda just wasn't developed much. She was introduced like an arc before the title change. All she needed was time.

I'm just wondering if they're ever going to reveal whatever it was that JMS was building up to. I mean, I was always guessing it was an alien invasion, but I'd still like to have seen it play out.

I doubt it, unless JMS himself comes back to finish it off in a mini-series or something.

I think maybe some of Hyperion's people coming back, like a SS version of Zod maybe or whatever it was that was firing at Hype's ship when he was a baby. I read the new SS and man does it suck. I don't know what Marvel was thinking when they decided to replace the squad out of the blue with these new characters. Are these suppose to be new versions of Marvel characters?
