Square Enix's Avengers

Well that was bad. Every answer is, "soon" and "we are working on it". Also they talk about the game like it isn't an obvious disaster. Only worthwhile things to know is Kate is suppose to be in the game before the end of the year, there will be new villains, they plan on expanding the characters skill trees, and they said they are adding more story content for all of the characters. What that means, they don't really explain.

The content for this game is going to roll out so slowly. They didn't finish the base game, and they aren't that far into the additional content. You can tell. Why they won't give out a road map and say super vague periods of time. We might be lucky if there is five new heroes by the time the 1 year anniversary comes around.

They should've had all these things in the game at launch.

This is why I hate DLC, patches, games as service, updates, etc. It's made developers lazy and put out subpar products.

It's a shame that Kate is the one character coming out by the end of the year. I never really saw anyone clamouring for these third stringer characters. People want to see Hawkeye, Scarlett Witch, Black Panther and so on. I still think they hurt themselves by making this a Ms. Marvel game.

I'm also skeptical to how much they're gonna add in terms of new areas or if they'll be any variation/additions to the repetitive mission structure. There's not of lost ground to make up for.

It also seems like Sony is still the holdout for cross play, especially since they have exclusive characters like Spider-man and I'm assuming any affiliated character.

The leaks are more direct than this pitiful excuse is just a sad presentation from the developers. Just give a damn clear road map

Uh... Kate is Hawkeye. :p

Okay, now that I got that joke out of my system, it seems the reason Kate is first, is the DLC character are apparently following a specific storyline. Kate's story leads us directly to Clint, which I guess leads us directly to Black Panther. That has potential to be cool, but I guess it depends on how fleshed out the individual chapters are and if they properly include the already existing Avengers in the universe.

All that said, I am now even more curious how F'ed over everyone else is going to feel about Spider-Man if this stuff actually works. Imagine PS users getting Spider-Man, while no one else gets anything for months.

Glad I decided to wait on this game. This is why, in general, I'm not a fan of the games-as-service model. Especially when it leads to the game lacking content on release. Or if the whole game feels like it is designed to revolve around future content updates as they get released.

I just prefer to have a full, complete game at launch with lots of content. If you want to add additional content later as DLC, then fine. But deliver a full game at launch, especially if you are charging full price for it. This will become an even bigger deal to me as next-gen games rise to $70 as the standard price.

This game has so glitches it almost remincent of the atrocious Superman 64 and that scary

Was going to get this game but this game being more or less a Ms. Marvel game just really turned me off. Was hoping to play as Cap for most of the game.

God this game sucks. I just learned about the free stuff, so I go online to collect it. Unable to connect to Square Enix servers

Jesus, does this ever work?
November 1st maintenance update? Who am I kidding, I am trying to give them an out where they don't deserve one.

Well, glad I pre-ordered , played on the open weekends and then cancelled my pre-order as I saw this game was going to going to be Anthem all over again. Actually I had more fun playing Anthem and still cancelled that one at the time. Like Anthem I will wait until this goes on for dirt cheap. I think I got Anthem for like 12 to 20 bucks on some sale.

Hopefully they can turn it around, would be nice to have a good Marvel game.

Well Spider-Man PS4 and Ultimate Alliance 3 are good marvel games. Looks like Spider-man Miles Morales will be good too.
I played Spider-Man PS4 to 100% along with all the DLC and I still keep going back to it from time to time over two years later just because it's so much fun to swing through the city.

Avengers, on the other hand, I haven't touched in five or six weeks since beating it. I thought it was decent enough to go back to it once more DLC characters are available, but I don't really have much desire to keep enduring repetitive battles to level up and unlock costumes that frankly aren't all that great to begin with.

This game has basically flatline, I mean the glitches are endless and now it's costing them.
