Hi there!
So it would appear. I have but two hopes left, both seem unlikely at this juncture.
1. Warner does not bring Singer back, and restarts the franchise.
However, I would guess Warner Bros. care more about their pride rather than their wallets, so they will likely get Singer back again. It seems a forlorn hope at this stage to see Singer being kicked to the kerb.
2. Singer actually listens to the fans and makes a good movie.
All but impossible given the elements in place.
I have nothing against Bryan Singer personally.
But how can it be a success when it has not even made its money back from the box office? The combined worldwide profit is approx. $195 million (55% domestic, 45% overseas).
Thats before we count Singer's alleged percentage (10%) of the gross. Which steals $39 million off the top (well done Bryan). Therefore the current net LOSS for the studios is $114 million (or only $48 million if we discount the expenditure from previous incarnations of the movie).
A few more successes like that and Warner Bros. will no longer be in business.
Whatever it will sell, you can damn well guarantee it will be far less than they would have expected.
