Comics Ssm #38

I'm glad they aren't letting the "Ero" storyline seep into Amazing because I thought it was serviceable at best. There were some good parts here and there but it won't resonate within Spidey's continuity.

Still, I really like the RAS/Weeks team, it's a shame that Sensational is coming to an end. I'm hoping that RAS will be one of the writers on Amazing.

I doubt it.

RAS is a low profile writer and Joey Q is probably looking for someone a bit more mainsteam to handle ASM. It's a shame cause RAS probably had a better grasp of Spider-man's history then any writer to handle the character recently.

Not only a better grasp of the history, but also of the character as well. Reading RAS I can quite easily segue into a classic story from the silver age with no sensation of jarring or that i'm reading two separate incarnations of the same character. And there aren't many of the current writers that are doing this convincingly.

Sure, JMS, Jenkins etc. are writing Spider-Man, and it's fun and enjoyable and it's most definitely the Spidey we all know and love (in most cases) but to my mind RAS is the only one to really reconcile the current generation of stories with previous ones. He should be moved to ASM quick sharpish.

It's one reason why i'm looking forward to what else Steve Wacker is going to do. Classic covers? Hell yeah!
