Stan Lee wants ANOTHER Hulk reboot?

Kevin Feige Talks THOR 2, IRON MAN 3, CAPTAIN AMERICA 2, the AVENGERS Sequel, 2014/2015 Releases, Another HULK Sequel, More!

After seeing what Mark Ruffalo did with the Hulk, does it open the door a little bit that maybe you’re like, “I might wanna do another Hulk movie?”

Feige: Look, that’s what I do for a living so every time I see a good take or a good storyline or read some good pages, I think, “Oh should we make a movie about this?” But with the Hulk we’re gonna play it very carefully. We had varying degrees of success on those first two movies, so we’re not gonna say, “Oh we did it! Another one!” We’re gonna be smart about it and play it out. There are no plans right now to do another Hulk. Hulk might be just the special guest in Avengers movies, who knows?

Oh but this is wonderful. The character reduced to a guest star in another franchise. Can't think of anything less degrading.

What was wrong with the 2008 movie? I actually can't imagine a better adaptation.

I'm not even a Hulk fan and I liked that movie.

I think Feige will change his tunes once he sees just how popular Hulk is after The Avengers, it's silly imo to wait too long, you want to capitalise on his popularity while it's still fresh in peoples minds.

I think the 'ol green beastie has three more stories in 'em
1) Planet Hulk
2) World War Hulk
3) As a supporting character to a She-Hulk Movie

I think a Bixby-esque Hulk take could work after a second Avengers movie. I'm a hard-core Hulk fan who appreciated the emotionality of Ang's version and really liked everything about Letterier's version - from the Keown looking Hulk...and Norton's quietness and even Liv's Betty.

That being said...I'm glad we're getting a more Buscema Hulk with the right amount of Hulk-talk. I loved Norton, but Ruff's got my vote based on the few clips I've seen.

Any new Hulk movie needs to be a trilogy, with #1 being a misunderstood Hulk who, kind of like Batman at the end of TDKR, is blamed for deaths he didn't cause ....a set up for Planet Hulk in #2 and #3 being WWH. Which works really well because by then, we'll have a deeply-established Avengers for him to rail against.

Wow. We live in a truly great age of movies!

What did Meg Ryan famously exclaim in that romantic comedy? YES! YES! YES!
Hulk trilogy - movie one - Hulk has become too dangerous for earth, so the illuminati (IM, Strange, Namor, Prof X, Reed Richards, Blackbolt, etc) banish him to Planet Hulk (after acts 1 and 2 the movie)
Movie two - Planet Hulk, gladiator games, conquers all, becomes ruler, marries, wife is killed, etc
Movie Three (after most of the important heroes in the MCU have been introduced in movies by the end of this decade) Hulk returns to earth for revenge in World War Hulk!

Little bit of a high budget affair, with some charactor rights "wrangling," but that's how you reboot the Hulk!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, especially seeing as how he's Marvels signature charcater, directly after Spider-Man.

^I'd say Wolverine would be 2. And Iron Man has risen up since his first movie.

I'm not happy about this either, but Hulk's had two blunders to his name. I'd be willing to bet money that Ang's film has caused most of the damage (though I did enjoy elements from that film) and a stigma has sort of come with Hulk since. That said, a good (successful) Hulk movie is still very possible, they just need to play it smart with a director who understands what's made the character work in comics. But then, how many of those has Marvel been able to hold on to?

What is it that people like so much about Hulk? I've never found him to be an interesting character and have always thought of him as pretty one-dimensional.

This is a serious question, not flaming, btw.

It's a reasonable question, no worries.

The Hulk is an amazing character because there are actually a lot of layers to him. Of course there's anger...but there's also sorrow. There's the misunderstood nature as well. Then you can add the science aspect...and the romance aspect.

Ross adds a level of revenge and competition to the mix, as does Doc Samson...who plays mind games. Speaking of...The Leader...back in old issues...a lot of fun as a villain.

Then there's the feats of strength/healing/ etc. just the pure power he has...and the juxtaposition with his alter ego who is pretty powerless to change his life. There was a wife...and he has a son...so there is a family aspect if you look for it.

Hulk is at his best when he's ridiculously powerful almost to a scary point but you know it's alright because he's a good guy. Some of my favorite movies are the ones where a good guy gets revenge after he's been wronged. Like a dad getting justice when his daughter's been killed. That's when Hulk stories are GREAT...when through mishaps or mistakes Banner/Hulk has been wronged and you're just WAITING for him to unload on someone with righteous anger. That's why WWH was so damn great.

Also consider that there are many different versions of the Hulk...each with their own corner of Banner's psyche...and different personality.

There's a lot to the character really after all.

I think It's the idea of catharsis come to life almost, that ability to just cut loose and hit back and all the external forces hurting you.

I'm actually shocked at all the World War Hulk suggestions. Planet Hulk I can picture, as it's actually a good story, yet World War Hulk hardly even works as a comic , we'd be getting 2 hours of Hulk beating up all the marvel superheroes with very depth.

If they made it work as a tv show, that ran for 5 season, there's no way they can't make a couple of 2 hour movies work, seeing as how they'd have free rain over some of Hulks more popular villans i.e Abomination, Leader, Zzaxx, Sasquash, etc...

Oberon, I acknowledge your concern, but honestly if you have two movies leading up to the third that set everything up, it's the total release of the meta-arc and works very well. Exactly what I'm betting Nolan's going to do with Batman, and to some degree what Lucas did with RotJ.

Think of it as a super-hero war movie. There are TONS of movies that are start to finish war epics. This one would happen to star superheroes. And the cool part is that The Warbound won't have their origins stuffed into the beginning of the movie...WE GET TO MEET THEM IN THE PREVIOUS MOVIE!!

I can't think of a better way to bring together all the outlying heroes like Dr. Strange and the Fantastic Four. Hell, Fox could profit share so that we get Xavier in a cross-studio move. Tell me THAT wouldn't draw people in! Now the move towards the Inhumans movie seems to even fall into place, doesn't it?

The coup de grâce that Miek's betrayal could be a VERY cool "after the credits" scene (not ruining the emotion of the WWH movie, yet launching the next one) that brings Hulk where we all want him...back into the hero fold.

I really hope this is somewhere close to Marvel's long-term plan.

I agree that just Hulk beating up on people in WWH would just be violent for violence's sake, but run a few subplots, Bruce banner, Sentry, She-Hulk, and you could have a good movie driven by dialog, emotion and reflection. The ending coul be Bruce Banner - finally rid of his alter-ego

since they are saying hulk stills the show in avengers why not capitalize on that and give ruffalo hulk a solo movie.his hulk/banner are supose to be the best renditions so far!

What if they release the movie first?

Hulk is probably the best metaphor for being human, as he has faults, gets pissed, does feel remorse, and feels like an outsider, but often hides it behind false bravado.

Mark Ruffalo Talks 'The Avengers' & The Possibility Of Doing A Standalone 'Hulk' Film
Jeff Otto said:
The Possibility of a Standalone Hulk Film
Assuming Ruffalo’s Hulk is met positively by the masses come May 4th, a solo Hulk movie seems like a reasonable enough assumption. But Ruffalo says no talk has really gotten past the brainstorming stages at this point. “There’s been sort of toying around with the idea but no one from Marvel or Universal has mentioned it to me,” says Ruffalo. “It’s probably premature. They’re about to make another 'Captain America' and another 'Thor' and another 'Iron Man.' I’m sure a third 'Hulk' is predominately undermined at the moment. But I’d entertain that, definitely for the right story.”

Third Hulk? The first one doesn't count...
