Star Wars 1313

Yea it could have sucked, but know we'll never know. I would have like to see how it turned out. I've been wanting a Boba Fett game for the longest time.

Yea for sure, and I highly doubt Disney canceled the game over quality issues. It was more likely them wanting to can anything not directly associated with the new trilogy and the fact the game was in development at a studio they shut down. Who knows though, maybe the asserts are saved and can be used at a later date if ever Boba Fett pops up again.

It could have been a horrible game, but now we will never know. It will be cold day in hell when Disney green-lights a mature game based on one of their properties.

Was it supposed to be mature as in "Rated M for Mature" or mature as in "Please take us seriously".

Eh, it doesn't matter. Neither option sounds like an appealing Star Wars game to me.

Aren't they planning on making a solo Boba Fett movie eventually? Maybe they could have saved this game for when that comes out. Oh well, I guess we'll never know how good or bad this game could have been.

That is your opinion.

Your previous posts on video games highlight a strong dislike of the Lucas Arts titles, which indicates that there are few, if any SW games you find appealling.

Yes because Lucas Arts has been meh for years.

They used to be one of the greatest companies alive. Grim Fandango, Dark Forces, X-Wing/TIE Fighter, Monkey Island, etc etc. They pretty much rarely messed up. Then they were smart in the early 2000's to give the licenses to other good companies to make games like Battlefront, KOTOR, Jedi Knight II the Ensemble RTS one.

Since then...there has been nothing that has been hugely acclaimed. Maybe not as "bad" as some of us see it, but nothing to write home about. Their in-house games for the past 15 years have been rather lackluster. And so it seems there was no way this was going to be good either, I doubt they would have pulled it otherwise.

Now Disney has given it back to three superb devs, Bioware, DICE, and Visceral. I'd rather have those three companies working on those types of games rather than a good looking possibly mediocre shooter.

EDIT: Also note most SW games were released prior to 2003, and yes the most critically acclaimed/loved ones.

Eh, EA's track record with licensed titles isnt a whole helluva lot better than what Lucas Arts were turning out.

I know DICE and Visceral are great dev's, but there is ALWAYS a hurdle when it comes to licensed titles. They could end up delivering a mediocre title just as easily as LA.

Neither. I think it was just gonna be a bit grittier than what we have seen, with the game focusing on the organized crime beneath Coruscant. Something that was deff missing from what we have seen. The world is so vast and all we see are Jedis/Sith and every now and then some space vehicle combat. An action adventure/platformer dealing with sides of the SW universe we dont see that often would of been a breath of fresh air.

Ehhh the problem with LA is it just was not making good games period. I would say Bioare/DICE/Viseral have great teams.

I think most would agree KOTOR and Battlefront (not made by LA) were some of the best SW games period, hand and fist above.

Well said.

Oh I definitely agree. I'm still concerned over these words though "Disney, EA, Licensed". Disney basically sold off the license for Star Wars to the highest bidder, EA. I'm hoping these devs under EA will have much more freedom to create the games they want(which looks to be the case at least with DICE and Battlefront) but it's possible we could end up with a bunch of movie tie ins.

Looking at the positive side of all this, we finally have the possibility of 2 great Star Wars games coming out after all this time with 3 great developers working on them and even the game that got cancelled at least looked great. Good all over in other words unlike most of the last decade!

The thing is, is Disney people really misunderstand. They are really leaving Lucasfilm to their own devices, just providing the resources. It's more KK controlling it all which is good. And Alan Horn. (who WB was stupid to fire since he brought them to greatness in the past decade).

I remember tons of people around the internet actually bashing that footage when it was first shown at an E3,They called it an Uncharted rip-off/Uncharted with Star Wars characters and universe

At least I still have Bounty Hunter for Gamecube for my Fett fix:woot:

But we really need a new BH game, I don't care what game engine they choose as long as it's 3rd person.

Rough looking demo but that would have been a fun game. Uncharted + Star Wars = WIN

I mean, why would "Uncharted but Star Wars" be a *bad* thing? Like, sure, if it literally just cloned one of the Uncharted games, that might be an issue, but if it just uses the same basic mechanics and design philosophy, but otherwise delivers on the Star Wars setting and tone and characters?

I blame neophilia gone metastatic. "Good" is not good enough, something has to be "New", and "New" is often preferred even when its bad.
