The Bad Batch Star Wars: The Bad Batch - Season 1 (Spoiler Discussion)

Good Dad Batch. I imagine we'll be revisiting the Syndullas and Howzer given Howzer and Eleni survived.

Them surviving and several other Clones siding with Howzer was definitely setup for a return to Ryloth at some point. Wouldn't be surprised if that ends up being the season finale.

Great episode! Slowly but surely we are watching the birth of the Rebel Alliance

It’s cool to see Howser and other clones deflecting, makes wonder how many more will deflect as well. Was actually hoping to see Howser leave Ryloth with the Bad Batch

It’s bad enough they got Cad Bane, Fennec, and other bounty hunters on their tail, now they have Crosshair to worry about.

I'm so pleased with this show. It's just really hitting the spot for the Star Wars I'm looking for.

I'd guess next season personally just as I think the finale will center on the collision of Omega, Crosshair, and Kamino storylines.

Crosshair can rationalize his decision all he wants, but he received an order to protect the refinery and did not follow that order. And then he didn't pull the trigger on Howzer the traitor. Crosshair knows what makes a good soldier, and it isn't strict adherence to a slogan.

A lot less death than I expected, barring Chopper's victims, of course. I've missed bloodthirsty Chopper.

I do wonder if having some clones side with Howzer indicates limitations of the chip. I honestly didn't expect any clones to side with Howzer.

Episode 13: Infested

Where Cid's bar is infested by Pikes, spider-bats infest the underground, and oMEga infests our hearts:

Decent episode, wasn't expecting much as the title felt like a creature feature episode but it had some nice moments.

So Vizago's showing up. Was expecting him this episode but I do kinda expect this to tie back to him. Maybe his brother? Or co-founder of the brothers of the broken horn?

That said, spiders were bad enough but

This episode had everything: swarms of carnivorous insects, people getting disfigured, kilos of space cocaine, people getting disfigured over kilos of space cocaine, etc.

It was a good episode, even if it was a bit rushed at the end. There wasn't much tension in the second mission to the mines. But I do love when they expand the underworld universe. The Pykes are suitably intimidating, so I'm always happy when they show up.

One theory is that only clones on planets with Jedi received Order 66 from Palpatine. The rest weren't activated and retain their original personalities, and have only been informed by other officers that the Jedi betrayed the Republic.

The only other explanations is the chip is wearing off or the chips didn't work in some clones. The chip is tech, and tech always has some fail rate. Plus some clones chips may have been effected by combat injuries or exposure to certain environments or chemicals or electroshock.

This is ticking along nicely and this weeks episode was a nice change of pace to the last few more over arching story episodes, we for some Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings type actions rolled in to one episodes. Nice new "bad guys" as well which were nice and intimidating. Any Cid episode is a good episode.

When Wrecker dropped the torch. :funny:

Episode 14: War-Mantle

Where Rex is secretive, Wreckah won't go, and a commando returns:

Best.Episode.Ever :mrk::mrk::mrk:

Seriously this had everything you would want from a Star Wars episode, action, drama, plot twists, cliffhanger ending, oof they knocked it out the park with this one. So much good stuff in it I'm not sure where to begin.

Me when they did the Han Solo thing from A New Hope:

Damn, that was one hell of an episode! Gregor’s rescue gave me total A New Hope vibes when Han, Chewie, & Luke rescued Leia on the Death Star

Love how the early Stormtrooper designs shown were heavily inspired by Ralph McQuarrie’s early Stormtrooper concept art

Yeah, that was some good ****. I do love how explicit they were with how terrible the stormtroopers are. "Yeah, they're not really good at anything, but there's a lot of them, so it balances out". As others have said, this episode was gorgeous. That forest environment was genuinely stunning. And I am enjoying the gradual rollout of the "standard" Empire aesthetic. Makes the world feel lived in, when things change at a realistic pace.
