I TOTALLY AGREE, IF A GAME GETS A 7+ RATING FROM COMBINED USERS, NOT CRITICS, BECAUSE THAT'S JUST ONE JADED PERSON'S OPINION, AND I'M INTERESTED IN THE GAME, THEN I'LL BUY IT!!! FOR ME THERE'S ONLY ONE THING I CARE ABOUT WHEN IT COMES TO BUYING GAMES, AM I HAVING FUN PLAYING IT, THAT'S IT, GRAPHICS, PHYSICS, MULTIPLAYER THAT'S ALL FINE AND DANDY BUT, FOR ME IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO THE FUN FACTOR!!!
up:
Games can be immensly fun, and yet suffer from horrid bugs and stuff, would you still buy it then?
Take Two Worlds for example. The game was literally a better Oblivion, but it had huge framerate issues and tons of other little bugs in it. I had more fun playing the
demo of that game than I did in the entire time I went through Oblivion, but because it was so riddled with bugs and other issues, it got such a terrible score and such negative reviews.
I generally ignore just about everyones reviews. If a game gets an overall score that sucks or is great, that's good for the game. Some games don't deserve such high praise (FFVII:Crisis Core is a perfect example), and some games deserve a much higher score than they get.
And games like Infinite Undiscovery, where you have to sheathe your sword every 2 goddamn minutes to do anything, and where sometimes you're just at a blank as to what to do/where to go and there's nothing in game to help, people will rave and go on about excluding these things entirely. Never in my life has a game got me so into it, and yet I'm so frustrated by the poor mechanics the developers chose. Hell, it took me a good 30 minutes to figure out that you had to sheathe your sword and use the catapults about 2 hours into the game, and it never occured to me that you would have to do something as asasine as that during a huge battle.
