well that confirms to me that the game isnt worth getting. Sucks bc it looked like it had potential
IGN's reviews suck tho..

I played the demo tonight to see if it was worth purchase. I think its rental quality at best. I was bored with the basic hack and slash game play by the time I finished the demo. I don't think a 60 dollar investment is a wise move for me.
I tend to agree with their opinions 90% of the time. The fact that 90% of the other reviews out there seem to be in line with IGN on this game, only reaffirms itIGN's reviews suck tho..

neither do I, but they can help with telling me how bad some of them are. I wasnt impressed too much with what Ive played of it in the demo and the reviews unfortunetly didnt give me much hope that the final game was much different. Its no big deal for me bc I wasnt following this one too much anyway and wasnt planning on trying it till Soul Calibur IV introduced me to it.Ah, yea, im one of those who dont need reviews to tell me how good a game is.
I just don't get why 7's = no purchases for some people.
7 seems fair, and it's what I would rate MOST of the games in my collection. I'm not blown away by to much...but I have fun with most of my games. I didn't expect TFU to be MGS4 or anything, I did expect it to carry some of the best elements of Star Wars and let me mess around with The Force.
It does that.
...Win.
games can be immensly fun, and yet suffer from horrid bugs and stuff, would you still buy it then?
take two worlds for example. The game was literally a better oblivion, but it had huge framerate issues and tons of other little bugs in it. I had more fun playing the demo of that game than i did in the entire time i went through oblivion, but because it was so riddled with bugs and other issues, it got such a terrible score and such negative reviews.
I generally ignore just about everyones reviews. If a game gets an overall score that sucks or is great, that's good for the game. Some games don't deserve such high praise (ffvii:crisis core is a perfect example), and some games deserve a much higher score than they get.
And games like infinite undiscovery, where you have to sheathe your sword every 2 goddamn minutes to do anything, and where sometimes you're just at a blank as to what to do/where to go and there's nothing in game to help, people will rave and go on about excluding these things entirely. Never in my life has a game got me so into it, and yet i'm so frustrated by the poor mechanics the developers chose. Hell, it took me a good 30 minutes to figure out that you had to sheathe your sword and use the catapults about 2 hours into the game, and it never occured to me that you would have to do something as asasine as that during a huge battle.
Impressions so far.
Wow! I really enjoyed the demo but the "game" itself is so much better. Knowing the beginning of the story and seeing the events unfold is great. The opening level you play as Darth Vader himself on a Jedi Hunt, and I'll tell you he's a beast. The Imperial March is playing the whole level and if your anything like me...you'll WALK the entire level just being the bad ass that Vader is.
The graphics are very nice, and the gameplay is tight.
So many little things have me geeking out over this game, the music is flawlessly composed, and the lines are done better here then in any of the prequels. Is it weird that I get MORE of a Star Wars vibe off a GAME then I did the three movies before it?
I also really enjoy the cut scenes, like I said I'm half an hour into the game and it FEELS like I'm a part of Star Wars. It's great.
Did you notice the construction of Vader's Super Star Destroyer in a cut scene? Pretty sweet.
