"Yes Boolon, that's correct. We should be leaving shortly for Coruscant. Would you like a ride back with us?"

"Oh uh, yes, certainly! Thank you, Councilor," I reply, taking a slight bow.

"That is, of course, as long as I'm not being a burden..."

"That is, of course, as long as I'm not being a burden..."

I smile as he speaks.

"No burden at all Boolon, and it's just Leia."

“Ah, very well Counc—err, Leia,” I say with a bit of embarrassment. I clear my throats and try to regain composure before addressing the Councilor again.

“How did you and Mister Solo fare in the battle? I apologize for not having been able to provide direct assistance--I can provide assistance now, of course. I can sense no injuries on board but if anyone feels that they need medical attention, I'd be happy to help.”

Once Barrett and his crew arrive back at their base and settle in for the night he finds himself feeling restless.

I just don't get it. The whole thing the Imperial attack the location something is missing. Something doesn't add up.

Barrett fixes himself another glass of Mandolorian Whiskey and begins going through the communiques, the reports, and any other evidence. He rubs his temples and continues his studying. He finally reaches one conclusion.

Maybe things are just the way they are. Although if that's the case things are about to uglier the Empire is not going to take this defeat lightly.

Barrett finishes his drink and looks at the clock.

Well on the bright side 6 hours of sleep will do me good, and at least I'll go to bed feeling no pain.

"I think we're alright, Boolon...but wait a minute."

I turn to Chewie and nod. He growls and bends over. "Chewie has a bad case of the Rodian Rash. See what you can do about it."

I do my best to keep a straight face and Chewie even lets a little giggle slip out.

“Of course!” I say as I approach the Wookiee. I must need more training from Mister Skywalker if I was unable to sense Mister Chewbacca’s ailments. Perhaps it had something to do with the rarity of this particular ailment? I have never known Wookiees to contract Rodian Rash. This must be a unique case.

I stand over Chewbacca and wave my hand over the troubled area, reaching out with the Force, attempting to heal the irritated skin. Strangely, I still cannot sense anything—neither the skin being repaired nor the ailment itself.

“This is strange…I cannot feel anything…”

I’m interrupted by the distinct chortling of a Wookiee and increasingly loud snickers from Captain Solo. I glance back at the Corellian.

“I’m sorry, did I do something wrong? I—"

Suddenly, a thought strikes me. I turn back forward to the sight of the Wookiee’s furry posterior and then look back and Captain Solo.

“Oh. I see. Yes, that was most humorous Captain Solo!” I say with a chuckle.

Chewie finally bursts out laughing, holding his sides as he growls.

"Just messing with you, Boloon. We like to have a little fun between the times we help save the galaxy. Now, on to Coruscant."

I swivel my chair back to the controls and blast the Falcon out of the Venture. We've made the jump to lightspeed and on the way to Courscant in five minutes.

After the debriefing session with the Provisional Council ended, Joren and Dono departed the former Imperial Palace and headed off on their own. It had been a long time since the two lifelong friends have had any time to spend together when they aren't worrying about the fate of the New Republic, so once they were able, they made their way to one of the local cantinas that they had become familiar with when they had first arrived on Coruscant.

Once at the cantina, they went to a small table in the back of the bar and ordered drinks and something to eat. It was almost a suprise to them that no one had bothered them. So they enjoyed their food and drinks in relative quiet.

Once they finished eating, they decide to meet back up with the girls at the apartment that Leia had secured for them soon after meeting up with Luke and joining the New Republic.

After leaving the cantina and hopping in an air taxi, they arrive at their apartment building and begin heading toward their home. While riding the turbolift up to their floor, Joren senses something, but is not sure what to make of it. He thinks nothing of it, and when the turbolift comes to a stop, they head down the long hallway toward their apartment.

As they approach the door to the apartment, Joren feels a sudden chill race down his spine, and he knows that something is not right. He immediately unhooks the lightsaber from his belt and looks to Dono, who draws his blaster. Joren goes to unlock the front door, but finds that it simply pushes open.

They rush in through the open door and stop in their tracks as they see Nyna laying in a heap on the kitchen floor, her red blood pooling around her, a stark contrast to her mocha skin. Joren reaches out through the Force, and can feel that she is still alive, but her presence is fading. If they do not get her help soon, she will die.

He looks down at her, sees the bruises and swelling on her face...can almost feel the brutal beating that someone had given her, and feels a sudden, almost uncontrolable rage come over him. He does his best to supress it, and rushes further into the apartment looking for any sign of Kelsa, almost in a panic because he is unable to sense her in the Force.

But she isn't in the apartment. He pulls in on himself and reaches out through the Force, trying to sense her presence, and then he feels it. She is indeed not in the apartment, in fact...she isn't on Coruscant.

He brings himself back to the here and now, and rushes back into the kitchen to where Dono is tending to Nyna. He kneels beside her and again draws on the force, attempting to use it to begin the healing process, or at least keep her from dying before the medics can get to her.

He reaches into his belt and grabs his comlink and begins to call for medical assistance when Nyna opens the one eye that isn't swolen shut and grabs his hand.

"Joren, he took her...." She says before slipping into unconsciousness.

Joren clicks on the comlink and calls for medical assistance, letting the being on the other end know of the serious condition that his friend is in. After the transmission with the medics is ended and Joren is assured that a medical team is on its way, he clicks the comlink on again and makes another call.

"Luke....it's Joren....Something's happened."

As the streaks Falcon comes out of the mottled sky of hyperspace, Leia looks down at the planet Coruscant which fills the viewport before her. It seems like forever since she's been here, but in reality it has only been about a standard week. However, the events that took place during that time make it seem so much longer.

First there was the failed meeting with the Rodian leader Navik the Red; who, after the Imperial attack on Corellia declined to join the New Republic. Then there was the Corellian attack itself, which still doesn't sit well with her. Barrett seems to think that there is more to it than there seems, and after thinking about the events of that battle, she can't help but to wonder if he is right.

Then there is the communication she received from Winter, informing her that there is a prisoner in Imperial City who claims to know her, and from the description Winter was given...it can't be who it sounds like...it's simply impossible.

The Falcon finishes its descent and lands on a landing pad outside of the old Imperial Palace, and the ramp is barely extended before the welcoming party rushes forward, hoping to get ahold of her first.

"There she is."

I open my eyes just in time to see the Falcon touchdown through the window. I follow Wedge out through the doors and walk towards the Falcon as the landing ramp closes. We reach the ramp just as everyone on board gets to the bottom.

I walk over to give Leia a hug, but two giant harry arms grab me first.

"Grrrraaa!"

I laugh. "Yeah, Chewie. I'm fine. It's good to see you too."

As I shift my way through the rubble, thanking the Force that I've become infinitely more flexible over the past month and a half I've been a Jedi, I sense weak signs of life coming form deeper inside the building. It's the sign that has driven me several hundred meters into the dissolving building.

Already I've had to deal with three columns almost falling on my, and then my tunnel partiality collapsing behind me. These roadblocks will make it difficult to escort any officials out of the building, especially the wounded. But it won't be impossible, and I'll have to try. It is my job after all.

After a few dozen more meters, I come upon an open door with the sounds of coughs and moans coming from the inside. As I cross the threshold, a dozen gasps come from the assorted beings in the room. One shouts out, "Are you a rescue party?"

"Yes," I respond. "But I'm the only one coming as of now. I need everyone who can walk to follow me. Everyone else will be evacuated when a team shows up."

Four of the ten senators in the room follow me back out of the ruined senate building, only having to stop here and there for me to use the Force to move some smaller obstacles out of the way.

But when we exit out to the promenade, my stomach drops to my knees. The soldier that was outside is now in a speeder carrying a grenade launcher, with three other speeders full of men with the same. He calls out to me, "So, you've got some of them out eh? Let's make sure no more leave. Thrackan Sal-Solo sends his regards!"

With that the group fires their weapons towards the building. I attempt to deviate all the projectiles' courses, but fail to do so. The explosives slam into the building, bringing it to the ground, and crushing the others left in the building.

As the man speeds off, I give pursuit on foot, and ignite my saber and toss it at his vehicle. The blade sheers through the hull, and smoke pours from the inside. He loses control, and the speeder slams to a halt on the street in front of me. I call to my saber through the Force, and it lands safely in my hand.

I approach the downed speeder with caution to find the man holding on to his arm, obviously broken in the crash. I point my weapon at him and he stammers, "J-j-jedi!"

"You got it, pal," I smile. "You're under arrest for the murder of six Corellian System Senators. Come with me."

**********

As I finish refueling my X-wing, my mom gives me a big hug, "Stay safe son. You don't always have to be the hero."

I smile, "I know mom. I love you."

As I begin to climb into the cockpit, my father says, "We'll look for Sal-Solo. The snake in the grass probably wanted to get rid of anyone who might oppose him and try to come back here and rise to power. He won't get away with it."

"I know, dad. Be careful though. We all know what he's capable of," I respond as I begin my take off procedures. "May the Force be with you."

"You too, son!"

With that, I leave my home planet behind to rebuild, and head for Coruscant.

I let out a small chuckle at the sight of Chewie practically crushing my brother with his rather enthusiastic embrace. And as I stand there, at that moment at the bottom of the Falcon's ramp, I feel something that I hadn't really occured to me up until recently, and it is illustrated perfectly by the massive Wookie half strangling my brother to death....this is my family. That smug ex-smuggler, the loyal Wookie, that neurotic droid and Artoo, and my brother. And soon, they will be joined by my own children.

I smile warmly as I step away from the Falcon and toward Luke, where I slip my arm around him, giving him a hug as well, and possibly saving him from serious internal injuries at the hands of Chewie's stranglehold.

"Luke, it's good to see you. I trust you're trip back when well?"

"It went fine. Remind me to introduce you to our new passenger."

Han comes up and I greet him too. "Might want to get those engines checked. We beat your here with enough time to get our debrief done."

"Yeah, she's starting to worry me. We had trouble starting her when we tried to leave for Centerpoint. Chewie and I talked about giving her a tune-up, but with the way everything has been lately, we just haven't had the time."

"I wouldn't mind giving you a hand with that, if need be, Captain Solo," I say, walking up to the assembled group of heroes in front of me. "Of course, if that's okay with you and Chewbacca."

I probably sound like some punk kid wanting to get his hands all over the Millenium Falcon, but I don't want to pass this chance up. Sometimes I'm still amazed that I'm in the inner circle of the most honored heroes in the galaxy. But still, I need to be just as dutiful as they have been, if I want to be respected as a Jedi.

"Feel free to help us out, Huc. Chewie and I have been looking over the same problems over the years so we could use a fresh set of eyes to look over the engine and see what we're missing."

As Han and Huc start discussing the Falcon, we walk across the platform and back inside.

"...and that's why Mon Mothma wants to see you all as soon as possible. Apparently, word's already leaked out. A lot of worlds on the fence are discussing neutrality rather then joining us. A few even talking about siding with the Empire. And a half dozen are thinking actually thinking about secession. The Empire's new leader is getting exactly what he wants."

Luke's words hit me like a ton of bricks. I already knew that Rodia declined to join the New Republic, believing that after 2 attempted negotiations, and failing to prevent a complete disaster on both of those occasions, first at the hands of the sef styled "Sith" warriors, and then the attack on Corellia, we just cannot provide the protection that their system needs.

"Understood. We need to get things under control as soon as possible. We need to reassure these systems that we are more than capable of providing the kind of government that we've tried to establish. And we need to do it fast."

"Agreed. I was planning on taking everyone back to Yavin, but if you need any help, I can..." I stop walking. Everyone walks past me before realizing it. "...wait, something-"

My comm sparks to life. "Luke....it's Joren....Something's happened."

I start running, putting the comm to my lips. "I feel it, Joran. What's going on?"

"Just get here. Medical is on the way...Nyna is down. And Kelsa...somebody took her."

"Feel free to help us out, Huc. Chewie and I have been looking over the same problems over the years so we could use a fresh set of eyes to look over the engine and see what we're missing."

"I'm your man," I smile before I see Master Skywalker stop dead in his tracks. It looks like something bothers him, and he quickly reaches from his commlink, and receives a communication from Joren.

Something's wrong.

"Just get here. Medical is on the way...Nyna is down. And Kelsa...somebody took her."

"Master Skywalker," I say heading to his side. "Should I come with, or will you handle this yourself?"

"Just get here. Medical is on the way...Nyna is down. And Kelsa...somebody took her."

Oh no.

"Boloon! With me. We need medical help!"
I pick up speed, using the Force to propel and guide me, hoping he can keep up.

"I'm your man," I smile before I see Master Skywalker stop dead in his tracks. It looks like something bothers him, and he quickly reaches from his commlink, and receives a communication from Joren.

Something's wrong.

"Master Skywalker," I say heading to his side. "Should I come with, or will you handle this yourself?"

I look to Huc and nod to him.

"I think it's best you go along. We'll be right behind you."

I sigh outloud. Probably not the most respectful thing to do, but I was looking forward to getting my hands dirty working on the Falcon. I turn back to Han, "Guess I'll take a rain check on that mechanic job!"

I rush off to catch up with Boloon and Master Skywalker, and meet up with them at the base of Joran's apartment building. I follow the two of them into a mag-lift and we head up towards Joren's floor.

Once we reach it, we find Nyna on the floor and Joren and Dono obviously worried.

I look over a Boloon, "Well, buddy. This is your specialty. Better get to work."

Then, I head over to Joren, "You okay?"

Before he can answer, Mission hails me on my communicator, "Huc, where are you guys?"

"Joren's apartment. We've got a situation. get here ASAP," I respond before turning back to my friend.

After doing his best to appraise Master Skywalker of the situation, Joren replaces his comlink on his belt and goes back over to Dono, who is kneeling at Nyna's side, clutching her hand...hoping that she will awaken again.

Joren just stands there for a moment, staring down two of his closest friends, one unconscious...her life leaking from her body into a pool around her, and the other doing his best to keep a clear head, but his grief showing even from behind his Manadlorian helmet.

He kneels beside him and feels the warmth of Nyna's blood seeping through his robes.

"Come on Nyna, just hold on. Help is on the way."

As Joren looks into his friend's battered face, he can feel the anger inside him begin to swell and threaten to rise to the surface, and turn into a wild storm that could consume him, and everything else...much like a solar storm on the surface of of a star.

He is so caught up in his own thoughts that he does not feel the arrival of his friends, and Huc's words shock him back into the here and now.

He looks up to Master Skywalker and the others, looking for something to say, but is at a loss for words. Instead, he drops his head and again focuses his attention on Nyna.
