Star Wars verse vs Star Trek verse.

wtf?^ lol does the star wars expanded universe exist in this war?

Why not compare the Die Hard franchise with the Planet of the Apes franchise?

Other than Star Trek and Star Wars having "Star" in their name and sometimes taking place in space, they are completely different. I can never ever understand why people constantly compare the two.

Agreed. I think people just compare them because they both have "Star" in the title.

Two completely different concepts that should never be compared. Both are great in their own ways.

They both have lots of different cultures belonging to specific alien races, both have futuristic weapons and their own languages, both feature space ships that travel faster than the speed of light etc. etc. You CAN compare the two. Some just refuse to.

Thank-you....its really not that hard. Both are sci-fi dealing with interplanetary traveling.

Anyway, I prefer the Star Wars universe but I would rather live in the Star Trek universe. heh.
I've come to greatly appreciate Star Trek after seeing the new movie and the first few episodes

:whatever:Really stupid comparison to be honest............really really stupid on your part. I wont explain why the two franchises can be compared but it certainly doesn’t take a genius to work out that it goes beyond both having the title Star in their names.

Oh and good job Asteroid-Man.

Let's break this down piece by piece people.... first matchup

George Lucas won a Lifetime Achievement Award...
No one knows who the hell Gene Roddenberry was...

There's really only one way to settle this.

STAR TREK has lasers.

STAR WARS has lasers and laser swords.

STAR WARS wins by virtue of having more and varied lasers.

In all seriousness, though, while I like the basics of Star Trek, I find STAR WARS themes and exploration of various concepts to be a lot more compelling and interesting.

Considering that Star Wars takes place A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY and Star Trek takes IN THE FAR FUTURE IN OUR OWN GALAXY why is it difficult for people to accept that Star Wars and Star Trek could be the same story?

With that being the case, the two universes could never clash because they are one in the same. And although one is from the past and the other the future, they still could never fully battle for it would cause a complete and total paradox that would cause the entire present to dematerialize and subsequently destroy the past(Star Wars) and the future(Star Trek.) Sorry, but this cannot happen and this thread cannot exist - it must be closed.

Ummm....both are geeky and suck. Light sabres are cooler than phasers, though.

Star Wars wins. Flawless. Victory.

Enterprise vs. Millenium Falcon

Falcon has more maneuverability but, Enterprise has the photon torpedos.

Enterprise blows Falcon, Chewie, and Han Solo into a trillion tiny parts of metal and Solo/wookie flesh.

Federation ships vs. Rebel Ships

Federation wins hands down. They have more ships and much better technology.

Federation ships vs. Empire

The Federation wouldn't have to worry about taking out the Empire. One borg cube would detroy the death star and the galactic fleet in a few hours.

Vulcan Spock vs. Jedi Luke Skywalker

Jedi have the Force, and Light Saber. Vulcans have the mind meld, vulcan pinch nerve techique, Vulcan phaser gun. Another thing to note is Vulcans are incredibily strong. 3 times the strength of humans.

Edge goes to Jedi because the force allows him to do almost anything.

Kirk vs. Solo

Solo seems to be more of a street fighter while Kirk has great hand to hand combat training. Kirk fought a klingon in Star Trek 3. Solo has engaged Storm Troopers and Scout Troopers in hand to hand combat.

This could be a draw but, Kirk might have the edge with his phaser weapon that can vaporize his enemies. Solo's blaster was accurate but, it never seemed powerful.

Princess Lea vs. Uhura

Lea killed the most notorius ganster in the universe. Uhura helped the federation temporarily infiltrate Nimbus III by seducing some rebels.

The edge goes to Princess Lea because she has excellent weapon skills and was a politician in the empire.

R2D2 vs. Scottie

R2D2 can hack into any computer system and repair any vessel. Scottie has an engineering solution regardless of how much damage the enterprise takes and is an expert on beaming technology.

This is a draw.

3CPO vs. Doctor mccoy

Both characters provided some comic relief to the series yet both served a significant purpose. 3CPO is the master translator while Mccoy is the best doctor in starfleet.

Mccoy gets the edge because he can adapt better to different situations. He and Spock helped save the enterprise in Star Trek 6 when they built a torpedo that could track gas emitted by a klingon vessel.

Sorry Guard, bu Star Trek has phasers. Lasers don't even get through the navigation shields.

Oh, and this wins the thread.

Never was able to get into Trek, myself. Everytime I think about it, for some reason I think about a bunch of people in blue shirts sitting down talking about how their ship is being shot by another ship and how they're gonna have to divert power to the shields. I know that's probably me not knowing enough about it, though.

Here's how I'd break it down.

Spock vs. Luke - close one, but Luke has the edge

Kirk vs. Han Solo - Kirk FTW. He also steals Leia.

Leia vs. Uhura - Leia all the way.

Sulu vs. Lando Calrissian - Sulu kicks his ass.

Khan vs. Darth Vader - Vader takes all.

Enterprise vs. Millenium Falcon - Enterprise lays the smack down.

Bird of Prey vs. Star Destoryer - Star Destroyer conquers all.

Deep Space Nine vs. Death Star - Death Star, baby!

Star Trek (original series) vs. Star Wars (original trilogy) - Star Wars, mos def.

Star Trek (2009) vs. all three Star Wars prequels - Star Trek, Star Trek, STAR TREK!!!
