In 1977, Lucas implied during promotion of the movie that Artoo and Threepio were real robots, not actors in costumes. He even went as far as forbidding Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker from appearing at conventions.

Everybody must watch this, it's one of the best short films I ever saw!

P.S. It's not a student film. It was directed by graduate of the University of Southern California ;)

That was made 8 years ago, I love it!

The director has done two feature films. But they both suck.

This reminds me of back in the 80s when Rob Zemeckis said hover boards were real and everyone believed him and started rioting toy stores for not selling them. True story.

LOL, every child of the 80's must have a story about 'real hoverboards'.

I remember when my brother phoned up a toy shop to ask if they stocked lightsabers, and the clearly clueless old woman thought he meant 'life savers'.

Mmmmmm, a genuine urban myth ...

My Dad told me they were very real and would never be released because they were far too dangerous!

For years I told people the same thing.

Has there been any new recent news on the tv Star Wars movies?

TV Star Wars movies??? I heard about a cartoon and a TV SERIES but TV movies!?!?! Surely you are mistaken.

No Lucas said they'll be TV movies. Around Celebration IV, I think.

anyone looking forward to the 3D Clone Wars show coming out in 08?

has anybody ever seen this? it's pretty damn interesting, and very enlightening.

it does say a lot of stuff that was pretty obvious before, such as the fact that, contrary to what Lucas will have you believe, he did not have everything planned all along and was making it up as he went. it also shows that, maybe not that surprisingly, the best Star Wars film (Empire) is also Lucas' least favorite.

LOL. Someone said this back inthe '80s:
Oh, well. I hope that Episodes I-III and VII-IX (if they are made) return to the spirit of adventure that was in SW and TESB, but seems to be lacking in RotJ.

Man, were his hopes destroyed.

There was this kid in my brother's art class who claimed that his cousin had one, but that they were very expensive so only rich kids had them, and that they were very dangerous. LOL! :D

I always wanted one :(

and a pair of those 2015 self lacing sneakers too

Rob Z said that himself in interviews a number of times.

I really liked the first clone wars but this 3D looks like it will have better action.

I thought the same thing. I liked the Clone Wars one aswell. But I really look forward to this one.

Sigh, still no news on a Saga Boxset. Doesn't look like we'll be getting it this year.

I'm not dishing out around $100 for Lucas just to have a stupid little box to fit all the DVDs in.

Neither am I, I'd hope the next Boxset would have some significant extras etc. as well as further touch ups to the films - eg. CG Yoda in TPM .

The updated CG Yoda in Phantom Menace looks so much better than the stupid gremlin puppet, they need to just release that on DVD, and hope add in another scene or two with him as well.

Agreed, they've already replaced the puppet Yoda in all the scenes he was in in TPM, with the CG model. It's just a matter of when they're gonna release an updated TPM now, it's also the worst looking movie picture quality wise.

That is really true. It just looked terrible, and it still does. I watched it today.
