Really? I've only remember hearing that it's doing great in the ratings. Why else would they renew it before the end of the first half of the season.

Whereas they've just recently renewed Eureka even though it's been at mid-season for a long time now.

Yeah, all I kept seeing on Syfy was "SGU beats Dollhouse in ratings, AGAIN!" over and over. I thought it was kind d-baggy of Syfy to do that...

you know, one of the things that made me happy about Atlantis was the international crew... seems to have been done away with for SGU. Everyone seems to be American, apart from the all knowing british guy.

Which begs the question, why do so many people in here seem to not enjoy the show?

People are enjoying the show... overall. But they don't enjoy the shows problems, and it does have problems. My biggest problem with it personally is the inconsistency of the characters and sometimes of the episode plots themselves. But still, it's a smart, dramatic show. It has a good cast, a good budget, it has an established fanbase, it's being produced by people with tremendous experience.

It has all these things going for it so naturally it's going to be succesful. It's not like it's a Joss Whedon show. :P

(I mean a great show, with great cast, established fanbase that follow Whedon anywhere but just can't seem to catch a break)

I was merely curious as to why people in here aren't as fond of the show as the ratings would otherwise suggest.

What i find so funny about that clip is that Browder was set to play his character from Farscape... but he and Shanks swapped just before they started filming....

Makes sense. We've already seen Browder play John Crichton. Much funnier to see Shanks play him instead.

I think it would have worked fine either way. And the way they had Daniel's back turned gave the fans a moment to think it'd be Browder again. But it makes sense they wanted to switch it around because of the budding relationship between Vala and Daniel.

And SGU is just angsty drama on a spaceship... Dollhouse was a crazy show about strange issues and what makes a person, a person.

Which is going to appeal to more people?

Dollhouse is definitely a lot harder to define, which tends to equal lower ratings. Movies and shows and such have been passed over entirely because studio executives couldn't figure out how to define (and thus market) them.

I'm still positive About an SG1 and Atlantis movie happening, SGU is alright, but I would much rather have SG1 and SGA.
