Michael Shanks or Michael the Wraith?

I read about Cheyenne's closure on GateWorld. Kind of sad, but I doubt it'll have much of an effect on SG-1. It would be kind of neat to see the SGC pack up and move to a whole new HQ next season, but it seems very unlikely that they'd have the money to construct all-new sets and everything.

screw building a set, why not just rent the real thing. This closure also provides an opportunity for the SG1 crew, to actually be filmed outside the mouth of the mountain base. Infact, they could stage a very cool foothold episode where the enemy gets outside the base. I think that'd be really cool 'cause whenever there at the SGC, there is a bit of a startrek feeling, that feeling that they never go outside. You never actually see anyone leave the base through the tunnel. There's that, and how cool it would be to have an SG battle there.

Heh, did you see the cost of maintaining the place on GateWorld? ;)

I think I said rent it in there somewhere. Doable I think. The military will probably turn it into some sort of museum anyway (that's an assumption). If they demolish it, then SG1 should definately film an epi down there, and incorperate the destruction of the mountain (demolishon of the base). The opportunities to film down there woudl really be great. I think the only time when we saw the outside of the base was when the replicators attacked (the first time) and everyone was running out of a manhole in the forest somewhere.

Preach it.

Also I have a huge crush on Micheal..is that bad? :p ;)

I don't blame you. The actor who plays him is exceptionally cute. :) Not handsome. Just cute. But add on that wraith make-up and he becomes one bad mofo that transforms his overall cuteness into hotness.

The alchemy of television, my friends. :D

Very good episode of SG1 this week, shame Teal'c didnt have more to do. Its starting to seem that now the Goa'uld are gone he has less and less to do :(

Well the Goa'old will be beack next week.

Tonights filler episode of Atlantis was horrible. As for SG-1, I had no idea they were going to do a crossover. The whole episode was terrific.

Did Mitchell and Sheppard feel just a bit uncomfortable while talking in this episode to anyone else? I really dont know what it was but something just didnt feel right.

That's because they're both a poor man's Richard Dean Anderson and they know it.
:D

Sad but true. I don't know if it's just the fact that Jack pretty much always cracked the jokes before, but every time Mitchell injects a little levity into anything, I keep thinking of Jack.

The crossover ruled, though. The climax was one of the few times in the past several SG-1 seasons where I actually stood up and shouted expletives at how badass it was. :D

Pegasus Project

Although McKay and Carter lost me a little with all their technobabble, and Mitchell was so very very very very very very very very very very useless, this was still a relatively fun episode. Sheppard was a bit of a jerk however, McKay saved his life dozens of times. You'd think he'd have a little more respect for they guy. And yes i do thought that Sheppard and Mitchell's scene together felt off! Mitchell is going like: "Nice place you have here" like Sheppard would need some damn pat on the back for doing a good job. Sheppard's been with the Atlantis crew longer then Mitchell's been with SG1 anyway.

Oh, and what's with Carter calling Mitchell "Cam"? What's next? Calling Daniel Danny-boy? :)

Best moment was Daniel's little speech. I so love it when he makes speeches.
"Listen lady, we ain't gonna take anymore of your ascended crap!".
Did anybody else notice that when Daniel gets angry, his bottom lip disappears? :)

When is season 9 of sg1 and season 2 of atlantis coming out for crying out loud?

9 of SG-1 is coming out August 10th (europe that is)

Sheppard and Mitchell were kind of awkward together. I was actually hoping for Sheppard to comment on Mitchell, since Mitchell's the newbie, or at the very least for them to talk shop about piloting 302s or something. Every new SG-1 episode convinces me a little more that the people who created the damn character have apparently forgotten that he's a pilot. He's supposed to be a great pilot, too, but all we've seen him do so far in any kind of aircraft is crash so badly he went into a coma and get shot--unconscious, no less--out of an exploding 304!

Anyway, the other stuff has some explanations. Carter's been calling Mitchell "Cam" since last season, and it's been established that they were fairly close friends before Mitchell joined SG-1. As for Sheppard being a jerk to McKay, yes, McKay saved his life a bunch, but he's repaid McKay in kind just as many times, and McKay nags him, whines to him, and just generally annoys him at least 90% of the time on any given mission. They're a buddy cop duo, but they're the kind of buddy cops who would never admit that they complement each other so well.

shep vs. mitch: I think they should have gone the route of sheppard being a pariah of the us military. Just like colonel T1000 didn't like him, then the colonel who arrived during the siege, and just likeColonel Skiinner. I think it would have painted a pretty picture, if Mitchell and Sheppard didn't see eye to eye on why sheppard was sent to antartica in the first place. That being a punishment until Atlantis was discovered (and sheppards gift). This would also have reinforced the fact that Sheppard's command on atlantis hinges on Weir's endorsement of his post and nothing more.

I don't think Mitchell would be the kind of guy who dislikes a dude just for a checkered past, though. He's a mission report fanatic. He's probably read every Atlantis mission report, too, and realizes that Sheppard's been doing a good job.

Yeah. Doing a good job of being evil.

I watched the Atlantis episode last night and I gotta give props to the cast of that show for being so professional about the crap they have to say sometimes. :) The plot was pretty bad but they handled it so well.
I was certain they would do a comedic episode next after all that stuff with Michael.
Oh, yeah.
Momoa pretty. Momoa even prettier when he smiles. :)

The SG1 episode was great. It felt like the old SG1 with them coming up with wild, near impossible ideas to fight off a vastly superior enemy. And I geeked out on the science when they included the time distortion in the communications to Teal'c. When I saw the Ori ship arrive at the Supergate, and the way they were shooting the Supergate from the side the way they did, I knew they were going to use the matter stream to take out the ship. But it was still cool to see them actually do it.

As for Atlantis, this episode cracked me up. Sort of felt like an old Star Trek episode. No one could have played Lucius but Richard Kind. And the 'sappy' lines were perfect since that was the point. Everyone was acting like a little kid trying to please the adult, and getting so happy when they get any kind of recognition (especially visible in the 'sibling rivalry' between Carson and McKay). And at the same time, it was slightly scary. When Shepard realized that everyone is against him and he'd better fall in line to buy time. The idea that everyone you used to call friend is against you and if you act out, you will become one of them, and since you're the last one still free, if you fall all hope is lost: Spooky.

This week we got not one, but two good SGuniverse episodes. I'll review them in the order that I saw them.

Atlantis

PRAISE THE LORD, HALLELUJAH! A ronon episode! This was a LONG time coming. it's almost likem he's been building up badass energy ever since he showed up on the show... all leading up to him going bat**** crazy. And I dug it. Despite the fact that the wraith are not only ridiculously easy to kill, but also very stupid, I really enjoyed the episode and it even left me mouth opened wide eyed a couple of times. Action scenes were great, cliche slow mo scenes and all.
Really dug the old-movie memory effect. It seemed fitting somehow, and it didn't get old like the use of grosplans in Miami Vice. It was a nice artistic touch. And yet... it was so silly to see Momoa wearing those civy clothes... with that hair. :)
Sheppard let Ronon have the spotlight for once, but even as a background character I really liked him this episode. Awww, your family. *wipes tear off cheek*.
After these last two episode I am this close *squezzes together index and big thumb* to forgive your behaviour in Misbegotten... Forgive...but never forget!

Stargate - Insiders
The Baals are back in town. I liked it. Certainly kept my interest 45 minutes which plenty of episodes in seasons 8 and 9 couldn't do.
I missed Daniel but I suppose he wouldn't have had much to do.

I only watched SG1, was ok but nothing amazing. I really am starting to think that Mitchell is bringing SG1 down for me now, I just really dont like him, dont like Landry too much either. It would never have happened under Hammonds watch! :p

"AAAHHHH!!! THAT DID NOT JUST HAPPEN!!!!!"

So damn funny. And two great episodes, especially Atlantis. And that fight between Ronon and the Wraith in the dark was awesome. These episodes make me sad the the mid-season finally is next month and we'll have to wait until March for the rest.

But I can't wait to see that 200th episode of SG1.
