Just noticed that the first episode of season 10 has just aired over here in the UK, hopefully this means we'll still get the new episodes earlier.

Yup

We Brits will have finished the season before Sci-fi start showing the second half. Which is good.:woot:

Im surprised that SG-1 is getting the "UK Treatment" it didnt last year that only happened for Atlantis. But hey its better for everyone if both gets the "UK Treatment"

No it happened for both SG-1 and Atlantis.......I thought so anyway

No most years we usually become a few episodes ahead over the half way point but seaosn 9 it actually came back in the US 1 week before we got the episode.

SGA, not impressed so far, far to easy to deal with the replicators.

on to SG1 1011, I don't know about daniel getting magical ancient powers, it seems too scifi. Did Baal die? Is that what happened at the end of the epi? He got shot by Ori soldiers, but we never saw what happened to him

Well if he did die im sure it was just another clone anyway.

Still I liked the new SG1 ep, nice to see Oma mentioned again and Daniel talking about when he was ascended. I dont mind Daniel getting powers, I mean its not exactly going to last so its a nice change of pace.

Oh and Carter punching Baal was the highlight of the ep for me.

Looking forward to Tuesday for the next ep.

There's a bit of confusion on which episode is coming up next.

Some places say it's 'Bounty' and some say 'Line in the sand' and to add to the confusion Sky One are saying on their sky guide that it's one of them and else where they are saying it's the other one lol

I agree with you Happenstance that that Ba'al was a clone and not the original

actually, I prefered the 'Clearly, you work well together' line from teal'c.

And yeah, the Oma mention was nice. Infact, after thinking about that a little after you mentioned it: It would have been interesting if Anubis some how played into the ancients plan to deal with the Ori (that's if they even have one). I mean, if you look back at it, Anubis would have been a helpful allie against the Ori.

I wonder how good he actually would have been against the Ori or Ori forces, a lot of his technology was still just Goa'uld and the bits that werent were mostly ancient mixed with Goa'uld which I cant see doing too much better.

What I would like to see is if ancient drones would have any effect on Ori ships or not.

Thinking about that now, considering the Ori are an offshoot of the ancients their ships seem to be a hell of a lot better.

I don't think we've seen any ancient technology vs. the Ori yet (other than the Ta'kara weapon). And anything from Atlantis, was old and falling apart.

I just hope we get 'Lost City, Part II' quality battle to end off the series. I wanna see 302's and puddlejumpers wrecking stuff

Yeah im hoping for something like that in the first dvd movie which is the Ori one.

I havent really liked the Ori but with it ending I really hope it ends with a bang. It should be an interesting conclusion to the story though as I expect they'll have to stop the Ori then lose the ability to as any weapon strong enough to take out Ori ships should really be transfered to Atlantis for their next season then they'd easily take out the Wraith.

maybe, It's always been my wish for Atlantis to end, with the city in orbit of Earth

That would be a great ending, it would be nice to bring Atlantis back to Earth especially with no SG1 on tv anymore just the ongoing dvd movies.

Should be interesting to see where the third Stargate series is going to be set, maybe we'll get an alpha site show. I wouldnt mind one similar to that crappy Infinity cartoon they released which had the team stranded offworld and trying to get back but with the amount of known planets now and possible ways back to Earth I dont think it would work anymore.

Its us UKers that are getting SG1 first this time :p

Although the Canadians are getting SGA first but as I only watch the occassional ep it doesnt bother me.

Actually I would prefer if it was the original because his interaction with Carter was great. I like Ba'al. He's the most interesting goa'uld yet, and the only one that has integrated into modern society. As such, he has a unique understanding of humans, and knows not to underestimate them unlike others of his kind.

Just don't make him a relunctant good guy.

I liked the episode but is it me or was Claudia Black's perfomance... awkward somehow? Like she didn't know how emotional to get, so sometimes she didn't show any emotion at all. I don't know, for some reason it just took me out of the story.

I liked how the team gelled together, Mitchell finally acting like a leader and making some hard decisions. Daniel acting foolishly and throwing himself in danger. He must think he's imortal by now, all the times he's died and came back. :)

Favourite moment:
T'ealc: You two work well together. *wink wink nudge nudge*
Sam and Ba'al: *awkward looks... icky icky icky*

I thought Claudia Black's performance was really good in it, to me you could really see how Vala cared about Daniel and didnt want anything to happen to him.

Just watched the latest episode. Was ok but unfortunately nothing special, felt a bit pointless but on the upside there was some really good acting from Amanda Tapping.

She did well didn't she?

I have to say that i was cringing when she started up about her personal letters on the laptop.

And then she said the password... The Jack/Sam shippers must have loved that bit:oldrazz:

I was kinda surprised to see Tomin back and especially the Prior from early S9, now he was a shock.

I liked the idea of a portable Ring platform and i liked the Ori version of them.

On a slightly different note, I was forced to flick between this and Holby during the ad breaks and i was (again) surprised to se Peter Wingfield (Tanith) playing a Doc there.

Yeah the portable ring platform was a nice addition, makes sense aswell.

I caught the password aswell, even more to add to the idea that Sam and Jack are seeing eachother in secret.

Carson! Carson NOOOO!
:wow:

SG-A 'Sunday' was probably the best one of season 3, Heck it ranked up there with the best overall. The ending... Poor Rodney.

So did carson do what Daniel did in Threads? Die too quickly to make a choice , stop off at his own version of the pancake house then ascend? did he just ascend? or is he dead and McKay is going nuts?

Personally with what we've been told about possibly reaccuring in S4 and the fact that i don't think McKay can get any more crazy without going insane, i'm with the idea that Carson ascended (with or without a pancake house) and that he was actually there in the final scene.

so they killed Carson?

good riddens. He was a nice guy and all, but I was getting sick of him. Always reminds me of a whiny school boy. I'm glad if they did.

Now, if they can kill Weir, kill the Wraith, figure out how to fly the city back to earth, and thump the Ori, the show will be in much better shape

Now, if they can kill Weir,

I take it you haven't heard about how they are downgrading her to a Re-accuring character in S4. My guess is that they'll have her still on atlantis but appearing much like Hammond did for briefings and other stuff around the city

They did but i don't agree with you on that about him

Oh and the city won't be flying again, probably never after they had Carson destroy the stardrive engines with Drones in 'The Return Pt II' to stop the Asurans from flying the sity away

oh, good, I'm glad about weir. thank god, totally useless character, who never lived up to the background that they designed for her.

as for the stardrive, it'll get fixed again. YOU KNOW it will. But it's probably a season away. They still only have 1 zpm, so either way, the Stardrive is out for now. But sooner or later, as the show progresses, as they aquire more Zpms, as the city become more populated, I'm sure it will happen eventually.

When it comes to the city, it is like a tv show about a guy in his garage, trying to fix up his old classic car. Eventually it'll be all pimped out, but it has to be paced, otherwise the show will burn out etc.
