gotta say, Picardo is working out well. He's way better than tori. And it's nice to see a leader on the show. Sheppard is still annoying, but the last little while, he's been more like a military commander, rather than a *****ebag space adventurer.

You don't like Sheppard?

I hate sheppard, behind Weir, he is the worst character on the show. They've already solved one of those issues. His nasal approach to the character really bothers me. But the whole supporting cast is now very very good. And they're all better characters, as well as more interesting than he.

If Torri one day agrees to come back they can even re build the original Weir
That would free up Fran to become a supporting cast member. I'd really, really love to see that. She's a really intriguing character with a lot of possibilities. It's a shame that they had to write her out. Realistic, since she really is way too powerful, but a shame nonetheless.

Yeah I quite like Fran, id like to see a replicator as a recurring character. It would be quite a lot different to the other alien characters we get.

I was never a big fan of Weir so im not that bothered shes gone and that Tori doesnt want to come back.

I would like to see Ford back though, season one I didnt really care for him but I want him brought back somehow now. Maybe just for a few episodes to finish off his story, maybe to cure him and send him back to Earth with his family or maybe even back with the team when Ronan leaves.

If Teyla or Ronon ever had to leave the active mission team, I think Fran would make a great replacement. She's a Replicator, after all, so she's infinitely tougher and stronger than Ronon would ever be. In fact, she could probably do the work of every team member better than they could. Maybe that's why a friendly Replicator isn't a permanent fixture.

I agree about Ford. The last word we got on him is that he's completely bonkers thanks to the Wraith enzyme, willing to betray and violently coerce his friends into doing what he wants. His apparent death on the hive ship is closure enough, I guess, but it's a shame to leave it there. I'd love to see him come back and have a proper send-off, either by dying to protect Atlantis somehow or by getting cured and returning to Earth. At this point, though, I don't know if Rainbow Sun Franks would even want to come back; it's been about 3 years since he last did anything with Atlantis.

Well he did cameo in the first episode this season. So that shows he is willing to come back.

From what I saw of him as a person anyway, id think that Rainbow would be more than happy to come back. Always looked to me like he was the happiest person on set.

is there a rumor of him leaving the show or something cause that would suck. For the record i was never to big on weir, dont get me wrong i didnt hate her but you know, and Sheppard is awesome i've always liked his character the best.

is this where someone starts a petition no one will read to keep Atlantis on???

maybe there will be a cool Sg-1/Atlantis dvd movie somewhere down the line

5 seasons I just knew it. SG-1 had 5 seasons on Scifi and so will Atlantis

I've been wondering when the dollar's slide would start hitting Vancouver productions:

Mallozzi, the "Atlantis" show runner, has stated in his blog that five years may be the limit for franchise shows in the future. He cited the fact that the rising Canadian dollar versus the U.S. dollar is becoming an expensive way to make Vancouver-produced shows like those in the "Stargate" family.

I personally think that 5 seasons indeed is enough for any series as long as it's thought of from the beginning as a 5-year series. Angel for instance should've definetely NOT been cancelled after 5 saesons.

But anyway, this is worrisome because it is proof once again that Sci Fi Channel simply doesn't have the money necessary to produce quality sci-fi. :)

when was this taken, were back at .92, and have been there for atleast a month now.

if you really want to blame: blame the US mortgage companies for messing up the US dollar, making the Can$ relatively way more expensive, when coupled with increased demand for canadian oil at the beginning of this year's driving season.

truely, if you can't tell your story in 100 episodes, you shouldn't be able to tell more, unless your first 100 are brilliant bits of gold which they have certainly not been on SGA. On average, how many first class episodes do we get from this series a season? 2 maybe 3?

Not every show is out to tell a finite story, though. Some, like SG-1 and Atlantis, just have a broad, overarching formula and come up with smaller stories within that frame. There's no reason Atlantis couldn't go on for another few years. Would it be the best show on television? Obviously not. But it would still be entertaining to a lot of people.

Oh well, I guess this means we'll all be waiting on Universe for the foreseeable future.

well money comes from advertising and I'd guess a good chunk of sci-fi viewers DVR their shows.....they are owned by universal but I highly doubt that Universal would start pouring money into scifi channels pocket without good reason

Maybe they could quit making all those f***ing horrible Sci Fi Original Movies and funnel some of that money into quality shows. :o

Those "****ing horrible movies" bring in the most viewers....I know a good chunk of people that tune into Sci Fi just for those movies...
