I haven't noticed much relationship stuff at all. There's certainly character drama still, but it's more individuals struggling with various stresses rather than the Eli/Chloe/Scott triangle or Young/Telford/Young's wife/TJ thing. Rush's wife is appearing to him but that's more as a facet of his own mind--his better judgment, it seems (although she's not exactly pushing him away from exploring the Destiny's controls all alone). The focus seems to have shifted to more of an emphasis on individuals: Young crumbling under the pressure of trying to shoulder every burden on his own, TJ dealing with the loss of her baby, Rush dealing with the wall of secrets and mistrust he's built up around himself. Personally, I much prefer this direction.I have to agree with you TheCorpulent1. The relationship drama is still at the core of the narrative but now there is a balance with the mystery of Destiny and the aliens that are being introduced.
I hope they develop the other characters more, which we are going to get with Chloe tonight. Eli seems to have fallen into the background nowadays. He's not the wonder kid that he was in the beginning of the series.
Yeah, I also hope the leader and the redhead join the Destiny crew. There is definitely something building between TJ and the leader. I'm also wondering what is in store for Robert Knepper's character. He is a little well know actor to have just in the background.
I would love for Young and Telford to be #1 and #2, like Picard and Riker, but that would lower the dramatic tension they have on this show.
I was wondering, if the Destiny has been travelling for millions of years (that's with hyperdrive or whatever they call it) how old are the freaking Ancients? And if the technology on the ship is millions of years old how can our primitive technology interface with it? Just as an example, a windows 7 machine can't even use a 5 1/4 floppy disk or even use programs from the first versions of windows.
It's one thing to learn the language and use the system but it seems implausible that our technology would be compatible with something millions of years old.
It's older and probably the tech is a bit different. But McKay and Carter are, like, super-geniuses beyond anyone else the SGC has, so I'm sure he'll figure at least a few new things out (and be as condescending and obnoxious about it as he always is).![]()
I'll be curious with the Rodney cross over (btw, i'm super excited for this...Atlantis is actually my favorite series...as i've discovered with my second watch through)
He can figure out ancient tech on Atlantis...wouldn't he be "What, you didn't figure all this stuff out yet? Here let me show you" on Universe?
Or is Destiny much older than Atlantis?
The fourth Episode of Stargate Universes second season made for the franchises first trip south of the 1 million mark for live viewing. Pathogen drew an estimated 974,000 viewers yesterday, according to sources at PIFeedback.com. This is a drop of over 20 percent from the previous weeks season high.
Caprica didnt fare any better, following up at 10 p.m. with 718,000 viewers. Like SGU, its a series-low for the Battlestar Galactica spin-off.
Pathogen ratings
SGU not even hitting a million viewers
