I just remembered something

We have met in SG1 so far all the races part of that big Ancient & Asgard club type thing except THE FURLINGS. I wonder when SG1 will meet them. Sure SG1 has run into some of the planets they visited & came across some of their Technology but never met them.

I think the people behind their show have stated that the Furlings aren't planned to make an appearance, um, ever.

Oh yeah, I remembered one other disappointment from the episode: No out-of-uniform Mitchell. I was hoping Mitchell'd help out in the Earth-based spy stuff so we could see what he dresses like normally. I always liked seeing Jack out of uniform, kicked back in a flannel shirt or whatever.

I quite liked the episode, wasnt as good as some of the others but still good. Anyone else pick up on Carters answer to Barrets question "So your single again?" with "Not exactly". Im thinking that could mean she finally hooked up with O'Neill in secret.
Great to see Baal back as he always was a great Goa'uld and I especially liked the fact that they mentioned Cassandra again.

Well that sucks about the Furlings. I wonder why introduce them & why not just have The Asgard & The Ancients as the 2 main races & Humans one day becoming the Third one. Makes no sense to introduce them & never meet them. Stupid lazy writers :down

No lazy or stupid at all, adds a bit of mystery to the Furlings. Just because the Nox and the Asgard are still around doesnt mean that all the other races have to be

A new race means new special effects, new sets... MORE MONEY basically, and they're probably already on a tight budget, with the Ori and all.
Besides, when I hear furlings, I think of little furry guys with pointy years, or worse yet... teddy bears. :) I know Stargate has it's share of cheese and takcy moments, but we don't need ewoks... just yet.

I figured that, but the guys in charge said that they'd leave the Jack/Sam question open-ended, so you could always view it as Sam just admitting that she loves Jack and doesn't want to be with anyone else, even if the Air Force regulations keep them apart.

I was surprised about Cassandra, myself. I almost thought they'd forgotten about her after her absence from "Heroes," which kinda seemed like an episode she should be in.

Oh yeah Cassandra should have been in that or at least have got a bigger mention. On the plus side though theres a lot of speculation going around that a certain character is returning for at least one episode this season

Spoiler:

Possible Dr Fraiser, dont ask me how yet. As ive said its still all speculation but a few sites have her on the guest star list for the episode in question

Joe Mallozzi, an executive producer on the show, posted on another message board that there will be "no flashbacks" in the episode. He's also a writer, though, so there's been a lot of debate on that board about whether "no flashbacks" means that there won't be any actual flashback sequences in the show, or whether the footage of that character is going to be old (which is kind of like a flashback) or new. He's been known to mince words before.

Its not going to be a flashback, heres the info for the episode:

Episode - Ripple Effect
Air Date: 2006
The SG-1 team is surprised when a friend from the past suddenly appears.

Most popular theory:

The most popular theory ive read on her return is that the events in Mobius changed the timeline so Fraiser infact didnt die at all. Im not so sure about this myself as you would expect them to be suprised at her return

I don't remember them time traveling in that episode

In mobius, they went back in time to steal a ZPM from Ra... they screwed up, and then in Part 2, dorky versions of all the hero's had to travel back in time to right the wrongs that SG-1 made on their first trip. It was the season 8 finale

I don't like this Dr. Fraser thing. Infact, I never liked the character much, especially the episodes with Cassie, and Janet as the EXTREMELY overbearing parent.

I was actually happy when they killed her, and I don't care to see her again. I'd much rather see some character development devoted to Mitchell and Doctor Lam, as well as Landry. I feel that they need to define the new characters a little more, in order to bring their character detail up to the same levels of the veteran cast.

just on a production related note,

On BSG, Commander Caine, and the Battlestar Pegasus are soon to arrive on the new show. And seeing that BSG and SG are filmed at the same studio, I think it would be a nice touch if Beau Bridges was hired onto BSG, to reprise the role, that his father once played

The new Generals father ? I didn't know Hammond had a son & oh yeah okay now I remember that episode.

& I think we can OFFICIALLY name Stargate SG1 to be the one show that brings each Good Guy that dies back from the dead

Lloyd Bridges played Cain in the original, and it would be nice to see his son, Beau (General Landry) play the same role in BSG2004...

but I just read that Michelle Forbes (Ensign Ro from ST:TNG) will be playing the part. Too bad, I think it would have been a nice touch to have two generations of a family, playing the same role, in 2 generations of the tv show

I thought Fraiser was a great character and she has a massive fanbase with Stargate fans, the only reason she was actually killed off was because they thought the series was ending

Yeah, I liked Janet too. But I also think that "Heroes" was a great 2-parter and a fitting end to the character. I wouldn't want that episode's events to be undone because of a weird "Moebius" time paradox.

Yeah I agree that the Heroes 2 parter was definately a highlight of Stargate, it was a really well told story and sad story. Still id like to see Fraiser back. Who knows, maybe its the Ori trying to show that they are still all powerful and that they are worth worshipping

Hmm... if the Ori resurrected Janet, it could potentially make a great story, especially if the focus is on Sam's reaction. She and Janet were very close. I don't know, though. The biggest feeling I get just from the idea is that it'd inevitably be soap opera cheesy and just detract from the poignance of "Heroes."
