I'm sure it was easier for the writers to come up with interesting ideas early in the series. They didn't have nine seasons and 200 episodes behind them.

That's really a poor excuse for lazy writing which for the record actually started a few seasons ago.

The Fully Grown Adria

Episode 200 was hilarious, and yet I feel it was missing something. The reason for WHY the series lasted 200 episodes. The whole episode felt like a bunch of fan made shorts thrown in together. Every single aspect of the show was made fun of, and although Stargate prides itself with not taking itself too seriously, self deprecating humor IS NOT the reason this series has survived this long.

I dont mind spoilers but I think you may just want to start posting links to these pictures coz people could just want to chat about Stargate and not be spoilt for next weeks show

Uh maybe the reason why you're not interested in the self contained episodes is because almost no effort is actually put into them anymore. Filler episodes by their nature are not bad. Some of the best episodes of SG-1 have been filler episodes.

yeah yeah, still doesn't change the fact that I'd much rather have single serving episodes that all contribute to the full season arc. I'd rather have a feast, than a happy meal.

woah, Adria got hot!!!!!

anyhow, I posted earlier my dislike of how the Sudan Warriors subplot was handled, and subsequently destroyed (especially the coolness of candyman).

I thought that this concept of the sudan warrior was perfect. Especially with the incoming Ori threat. I think it would have been interesting and far more entertaining, if the Jaffa slowly began to be converted to the way of Origin. Resulting in Teal'c and other old school Jaffa to lose their influence. The Jaffa in essence would again become a threat, as minions of the Ori.

This is where I was hoping that the Sudan warriors would come into play. As the original free jaffa, with legendary skills on the battlefield, they could have joined the fight against the Ori, and those Jaffa converted by Origin, and save the day and souls of their converted brethren.

It was annoying to see these super jaffa warrior, all get killed by one stupid zombie, that was eventually easily killed with a couple of claymores. Boo to the writers for that move.

And just while it's on my mind: We are yet to really see any Ori warriors, or the Ori threat on the ground. We know their ships are badass, but what of their troops, the crusading arturian peops? I hope in the coming weeks, we get to see a little more of the Ori civilization, because we haven't really seen any of that this season IMO.

If the Ori themselves come to the Milky Way Galaxy then the Ancients would have to actually step in. Like Mitchell said in an earlier Episode the Ori are cheating with their Army & Priors doing all the work & with Adria

let me be more precise (for the analized nitpickers), I want to see what the Origin Crusaders look like, I wanna know about them, not the Ori specifically. We saw a very little while Vala was trapped on the Ori vessel, but no where near enough to have any kind of idea of the world these origin crusaders live and apparently love.

I just read that myself, very pissed off. Means im gonna have to start watching SGA now for any eps which people from SG1 will appear.

And of course im gonna blame all of this on Mitchell!

I am also pissed. But honestly not surprised at all. Now we just need a Full Length SG-1 Movie to give this a proper ending & have Daniel go to Atlantis & yes damn you Mitchell

I wasn't too surprised either. 10 years is a good run for a show canceled once already. But I didn't expect ratings to be the problem. I just figured the 'regular' cast would be ready to leave after 10 years, and the show would end or keep going with a newer cast.

& how do we know the "regular cast" is the problem ? We know nothing

I didn't say they were the problem. It's just that after so many years, actors tend to want to leave and try new things. So I figured that would be the ultimate reason the show would end (or a new cast would be brought in since the SG1 format allows for that), rather than a ratings. I'm surprised that ratings have dropped so much (and I tend to agree with the article that a good part of it was the loss of Sci-Fi Fridays with Galactica).

I can see Daniel transferring to Atlantis if SG-1 does end up dead. That would be cool

What? This is news to me.

Like they said in the first story

Stargate to MGM is like the James Bond Movies except on TV. Do you really think MGM will let Stargate SG-1 simply die ? It is a money maker for them

I guess the Film rumors are true then. or at least I hope they are true.

A while back it was reported that if SG-1 goes out it goes out as a Full Length Movie pretty much & then a new Show would Spin Off. Thank god MGM owns the Stargate rights & not Sci Fi
