This season, many of the new series on television are lead by either returning faces (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tim Allen, Christina Applegate) or by actors new to television (Jim Caviezel, Zooey Deschanel, Patrick Wilson). And that isn't even counting the actors replacing stars that have departed their series (Ashton Kutcher, James Spader, Ted Danson).

So, my question is, which actor/actress would you like to see on a series, whether it be their first time or as a return to television?

Mine would have to be...

Jamie Lee Curtis: She's guesting on NCIS this season, and I think it would be a good way for her to segue into series television. I wouldn't be surprised to see her in a pilot for next season. And, really... when was the last time she was in a film that was a hit?

Megan Mullally: This woman deserves to be the lead of her own series. She's been pure gold on her Parks and Rec appearances, she was arguably the best (and maybe only) good part of Will and Grace and she's awesome on Childrens Hospital. Fox, ABC, NBC... somebody... anybody, make this happen.

Any given star of Harry Potter: Post-Lord of the Rings, many of it's stars (Dominic Monaghan, John Noble, Elijah Wood, Sean Bean) have made their way to series television, and I would love to see the same happen with any member of the Potter cast. Certain actors, like Fiona Shaw on True Blood and Jason Isaacs on midseason's Awake, have already made their way to TV, and I would love to see more follow.

David Cross needs to return to TV.....in anything. Maybe in his next role, he'll play an Analrapist.

I would give my firstborn (anyone's firstborn, for that matter) for a Tobias spinoff.

I would like to see Julian McMahon back on television. I miss Nip/Tuck. I think he could make a great guest star on Glee or American Horror Story.

Viggo Mortensen on a Showtime or HBO series.

Jason Bateman needs a series again, dammit. :o:up:

I think Brandon Routh needs to try to move to tv for awhile. His attempts at being a movie leading man haven't exactly worked out, and I think a move to television could help him out, build up a bit of a fan base, and get more experience. From what I've heard, people enjoyed him on Chuck, so I think it would work for him.

Nobody wants to watch a guy with no personality on tv.

Obviously they do since Smallville lasted ten seasons with Welling's wooden self front and center. :whatever:

If you guys are going to turn this into a Welling/Routh battle, I'm going to have to ask you both to leave. No one wants to hear it anymore.

Plus, Cavill's already topped them both, so. :o

I enjoyed Routh as the villain in Chuck. I'd like to see him do more bad guy roles on TV. Maybe some guest stint on Law and Order or CSI or Hawaii Five-O or something.

I'm not trying to turn it into anything, just pointing out that people don't need to be a smartass about someone's suggestions, especially with a crappy reasoning like that.

Chris Cooper.

You could just back up your opinion with evidence rather than tear down someone else :csad:

I did in my first post! I said his attempts in film haven't amounted to much, so I feel he should move to television where he could develop his acting skills and gain a fan base that could follow him to films. Nothing I said in it deserved someone to come in with a wise ass reply that "no one wants to see someone with no personality". I only responded in kind with an example that proved it wrong.

I get the feeling it's only a matter of time before Al Pacino makes the leap to an HBO series or something. Dustin Hoffman's doing it.

It's not that he should be back on televsion. He should only be on television. I don't think he can carry a movie and doesn't even work as a villain in a movie either *cough* Dr Doom *cough*.

He seems like he could be a random suspect on CSI Miami who turns out to be a red herring... or possibly the murderer. He does seem more of a tv personality than movie star. I think he could've worked in a Superman tv series, and even his promo shots for Superman Returns looked more like promo shots for a new Superman show (although it looked somewhat like it would be a show like Lois and Clark).

I just saw John C. McGinley on a State Farm commercial. This guy needs a new show ASAFP.

haha. I just saw that. I was surprised. He aged a bit too.

Julia Roberts! She's done movies for a long, long time, a TV show could be good for her.

I'm throwing Liev Schreiber's name in. Honestly, I'm surprised CBS didn't try to snag him after his guest arc on CSI a few years back.
