Well, i think that s2 was already announced a month back which is why it's on hold now due to Andy's condition.

As far as most of the women NOT being American; i believe that to be true. The one thing that i wish about Mira (Katrina Law) is that she didn't have an America accent. That would have send her hottness through the roof for me. When she first took off her mask, and we see her face, i was life "WOW!" Then when she spoke to Spartacus in his cell is was a tad disppointing. I nice Middle Eastern or European accent would have been hotter on her....

You mean Merkins...i'm not surprised as most woman today tend to shave down there, but back then they went all natural....

"Back then" wasn't the prehistoric age in some country it was a custom to shave the pubic hair, it was a matter of hygiena.

Also, this is getting to be a kind of prestige show for Starz. I think they were already announcing a second season before the show even aired.

I guess they figure, this could be like the new ROME or something. And well the women are getting a lot of face (and body ) time on this show.

Also, some of these women probably also aren't American either and probably have less puritanical hangups about nudity. Nudity is good, especially when its hot women in a bloody and violent show.

I hope Starz will have more faith in Spartacus than HBO did for Rome; HBO cancelled Rome after the second season, and Stevenson (star in the series) revealed that they had to condense everything in the second season and finish the story. It totally ruined what was a great series. I still hate HBO for that.

Rome was a very expensive show and if I remember the place were it was shooted, cinecitta studio, had an accident ( water flood or something ).

You know looking back on the episode, i'm surprised Spartacus wasn't more conflicted about having sex with that queen. He hasn't been mourning about his wife all that much since she died.

From the looks of it Spartacus was really enjoying banging Ilithyia. I thought he freaked out because:

1. It was Ilithyia
2. He couldn't believe he liked it so much being with her.

All round a great power move by Lucretia.

Yeah, he was basically a ladies man before he met his wife. I guess he hasn't lost his touch. I rather liked Illythia in this past ep, for some reason.

How hot is Xena on here? I may have to rent the series just for her bod--acting skills.

Lucy Lawless steams up the screen. She's either a blonde or a redhead in the series, which isn't as hot as her turn in "Xena" but she is stacked. Her scenes are sparse compared to the rest of the cast, but I suppose she wanted to tone it down when she has to explain it to her kids when they're old enough.

I CANT BELIEVE THAT MADE SPARTACUS KILL VARRO. I almost wept up. He was such a good character, it was way too early to kill him off. Even worse was that it was Illythia's manipulations that got him killed. Poor Varro.

Varro was such a great character, did they havta kill him off in season 1? I feel like they could've at least kept him around til season 2. Now Spartacus has like no reason to live with his wife and best friend gone.

The last 10 minutes of this past ep were I would have never seen that coming in a thousand years, not like that! And to think, i was starting to feel bad for Illythia last week..man what a *****! The acting by the actors who played both Spartacus and Varro during that scene, were superb.

Batiatus plans for higher office have now blown up in his face; by the looks of the preview for the next few eps, both Spartacus and Batiatus are out for revenge..should be good!

In this past ep, it looked as though she's has implants. The scne where she's lying down with the see-through gown on....

What an episode, heartbreaking. They killed my favorite character on the show, I was really hoping he would die in the arena after at least a couple more fights. He died and his death served no purpose, Batiatus got nothing out of it but coin.

I saw it last night and I'm still in total shock. That Illythia is going to get what's coming to her. We can only hope it's a 50 gladiator gang rape followed by her being tossed off the side of the cliff. Oh, and that kid got manipulated so easily it's crazy.

I'm actually pissed off at the kid even more than Illythia. He truly was manipulated by the pootang. I guess that's his real first lesson as be becomes a man. He came off as though he was a virgin, yet i'm sure he came from a house full of slave girls that he could get it on with at the click of his finger.... The scene where he makes his judgement alone elevated this show from being just about blood and guts; you could feel the tension in the room. Great acting by all in that scene.

Glad we finally got to see Naevia and Crixus get in on, in all it's glory; i wonder how Asher will use this to his advantage?

Mira comforting Spartacus at the end was aa great final scene.
