Yeah i agree. I want the second season as bad as the next guy, but not at the expense of Andy's full recovery. His body has been through a tremendous ordeal. Between now and October is ample time for him to get back on track without the burden of havng to rush to get back in shape, in order to keep his job.
ITA!
His hair wasn't all that long after they chopped it from the beginning.

It might not take that long,
Michael Rosenbaum's main problem with playing Lex Luthor on Smallville was that it took 3 months for his hair to grow back to a reasonable, if short, length so he could do other roles. But for him, by the time he was done with summer and his hair had grown back, he'd have to go back to filming...
Different people's hair grows back at different speeds, so it might not take that long, but I think Andy's body is more in need of recovery than anything else.
Apparently the type of cancer he had is curable, but it requires an aggressive treatment: radiation and chemo.
It's hard on the body and even though he's been cured, it will probably take his body time to recover from all that. It's brutal, apparently. You tend to lose weight too, so I would imagine it will take time to get him into fighting form.
Just because I'm still worried about Andy and his well being, is he pretty much in the clear now?
I'm sorry to say I don't know much about this stuff and luckily I've been unfortunate where none of my close friends or family members have had to endure a disease like this. Like I mean, will Andy be OK from here on out? How long might he have to worry about a relapse? I know Michael Turner probably had some different type of cancer, but I also understand Turner had relapse issues as well, correct?
Well, I looked this up when he was diagnosed and if caught early and treated aggressively, it is curable.

Sounds like that's the case with Andy, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for him.
As for what his current condition is, Lucy Lawless was at a TV festival in Monaco last week. When asked about Andy's health and how what happened will affect Andy's role, she said this:
Lucy Lawless (Lucretia0 said:
I think he'll be back better than ever because he was in pain and he didn't know why and now it's been eradicated. So, I think he's going to be better than ever. We're so thrilled, so thrilled that this is behind him, for him and his lovely family.
It's all good, but I don't know what happens to his character if that was what you were asking. I don't know what happens to Spartacus.
(After unintelligible question Lucy continued)
Not anymore, no health problems, they're all clear.
It's an audio only interview, which I figured out where they put it on their site since it sucks worse than about anything I think I've ever seen before, so here's the whole file (if you want it):

Lucy Lawless and Peter Mensah (Doctore) answer the sometimes stupid questions from the European press in that MP3 file. I don't think most of them had watched the show, but is a bit long.
The bit about Andy is about 20 or 21 minutes in.
See the original page here if you're interested, they got some pretty good shows with Q&A sessions there, but Spartacus was the only one I was interested in.

(To find the MP3 files for the different shows, in Windows IE right-click on the page, View the Source - which brings up the html code in a text document - then search for the show name and look for the file location with an 'mp3' at the end...I think Firefox works similarly for this, not sure about Safari in MAC, but FYI)
