State Your Opinion on a Character (New 52 Edition) - Part 1

Harvey Dent - I like Harvey. When he's written well he has very good stories but when he's not written well they can turn to garbage. Loved him in the BTAS episodes, especially the Professor Strange one where he defended Batmans ID accidentally.

Rip Hunter - Never read too much with him but I always liked the time travel stories DC did when they weren't too insane and Rip had some good stories. I rather liked the Booster/Rip team ups with him being Boosters son. That was nice. I have no idea if he's still around or not. :p

SUPERBOY PRIME PULLED HIS ARM OFF

Oh God, I made a mistake.

Sorry. :O

You're making quite the mistakes tonight. This is a (Ultimate) Marvel character in the DC thread!

I am not familiar with her. But that's one gross picture

I'm trying to remember. Didn't Sargon used to be a guy?

Before Teen Titans Go! turned an entire generation's perception of BB into that of some TMNT Michelangelo meets dumb surfer dude, I liked Beast Boy. He was likable and not overly goofy.

Good luck telling that to these kids nowadays.

love Gar he's awesome!! not only was he in one of the best books ever in the 80's! DC's New Teen Titans!!but even before then he a rich history of being connected with the DOOM PATROL....and ket me tell you baby!! Anything that is associated with the DP is the ^&*(ing COOLEST as far as i am concerned!! dude rocks! and love his freaking power!!

I like Dr Phosphorus in the Starman books. That was pretty much the only thing I read him in. He was an interesting villain that got taken down by an elderly superhero twice.

I'm going to get flamed, but I love Teen Titans Go! Watching that with my 7 year old is a true joy.

Man, I can't stand Arsenal or Red Hood and the Outlaws. The concept is there and the team is cool. But the execution sucks. I think they try to hard to make them edgy whereas if they played up the whole "misunderstood, rejected sidekicks form a capable team" angle it'd be great. But they try to make them a gang, complete with their own road ****e, Starfire. (Don't get me started about how they dropped the ball on her character, which could've been perfect.)

I liked Arsenal for awhile and he really put the 'arse' in Arsenal when they wrote him right. I appreciate that they used him to get the drugs are bad message out in the 70's when it was basically forbidden to talk about it in any way. I enjoyed his character arc after COIE from being a sidekick to going out on his own. Making him a dad was a great move and he was interesting with that since everything he did was basically 'Would Lian approve of this when she's older?'. That and it was adorable seeing him fawn over her despite being a superhero. When someone threatened her he'd murdalize them without killing them.

Man, they ****ed him up in the Cry for Justice thing though. They basically ruined every single thing about the guy in one of the quickest ways I've ever seen. Now he's just some guy in a trucker hat that has a sort of connection to other characters hanging out with other characters who sort of have a connection to others. Or at least that's how it was when I stopped reading the Outsiders book.

This. Cry For Justice is such a piece of crap on multiple levels. It's a poorly executed story and yes, killing Lian was CHEAP and it did ruin the character, but even then there was a chance to do something with his grief but instead... Thor H. Odinson... What a mess. Roy should be one of the greats. THE GREATS. He should be a respected, but down to Earth Leaguer. A perfect example of mishandling a character on every level.

Personally I always loved the idea that people would dare to threaten basically the adopted niece of the entire Justice League. "You're threatening MY daughter? I'm a superhero, I'm on a first name basis with basically a hundred other superheroes and I have Superman on my speed dial. You want to touch her? You're going to have to go through the entire ****ing JLA and then some."

Lian Harper is the kind of character who would have grown up to lead a super-hero resistance in one of those Rock of Ages-style futures, or something equally awesome. Such a waste.

I liked the idea that Rex basically cloned himself a protoge out of his own body. Just the right kind of comic book crazy, and I dug his waaaaaay non-traditional relationship with the future cyborg girl.

Ah... The Old Timer... I liked that they didn't forget about him with the 90's GL series when Hal returned. Tragic that the Guardian that had the most interaction with humanity would end up as he did.
