Final Fantasy 7 is a terrible role playing game.

Fallout: New Vegas > Fallout "3"

That's actually a popular opinion. A lot if FF fans dislike 7 and find it overrated.

No...I would say there are some that find it over-rated, but...they don't dislike it.

I don't like the first-person perspective, so much so that I don't play first-person games. The only exception is Mine Craft, and during games like Skyrim where you can switch -it can be useful to get a closer look at things.

Also, Oblivion is boring as hell too.

Tomb Raider was better than Uncharted (any of them).

The Nintendo 64 had some great games, but was a disaster design wise, that cost Nintendo a console war.

Halo 4 was the worst numbered Halo game.

While a lot of fun, Super Mario Land 3D felt like a beta for a game that we never got for the 3DS.

FF7 was amazing but it hasn't really withstood the test of time.

There are certainly elements to it that have not aged well, but I still think it holds up now. Actually, the aping of its style that's taken place since its release has in some ways made me appreciate it more. The crappiness of the VII spin off material and more recent games in the Final Fantasy series (mainly XIII) makes the original look a lot better by comparison.

I generally agree that VII is way overblown by it's fans. But I do get it. For a lot of them, it was probably their first foray into the franchise, maybe even the genre as a whole. Even for older fans, it was the first one to jump to 3D. Add to that the huge marketing campaign and push that Sony gave it, pretty much the formula for memories. I like the game, but I actually had the chance to play VI (or Final Fantasy III, as I knew it) for SNES before VII, and I've always felt it was pretty much better in almost every way. I was lefted far less impressed by VII because of that, I think.

I don't think that's unpopular at all. I don't even know if it's really an opinion per say. I doubt there's any debate that the N64 lost the console war of that gen.

Before ps3 I played mostly sports games has I felt like they where the best games. But sences ps3 and now after I think sports games have gotten worse out side of game play has they have more majore issues they didn't have back in the like ps2 days and just haven't lived up to hype. I fell games out side of sports games have gotten much better after the ps2 days though so I kind of agree.

The 3D Mario games (Mario 64,Sunshine, Galaxy etc.) have never really felt like Mario games to me.

Metriod is easily Nintendo's best franchise.

Assassin's Creed 3 is worse than the first Assassin's Creed.
Dishonored was the best game of 2012.
Dragon Age II isn't awful.

I liked Superman 64 (grant it, it came out when I was 6 and instead of flying through the rings I just enjoyed flying around as Superman and never really cared about getting through the rings).

I find the Halo series overrated.

Gears of War 3's multiplayer is the best multiplayer ever in a game.

I don't really like the Assassin's Creed franchise. I got bored of it, especially the combat system, by the end of the second game. Haven't been able to finish Brotherhood yet. Guess awesome settings and historical events aren't enough to keep me invested. Also I don't get how AC doesn't get more hate with it's 1-2 yearly releases.
