Its time to get the ball rolling on this one folks, cause Fallout 3 is a little over 2 months away.

fallout%203.jpg

Release Date - October 28 in the US, October 31 in Europe

Fallout 1 and 2 were 2 of the greatest games ever created by man, and with 3 developed by the awesome Bethesda who made the awesome Oblivion, this is set to be the next great Fallout game, and its about damn time with the 2 terrible spin offs that were Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel.

So basically, you lived in a Vault underground your whole life while nuclear war outside has turned the whole world into a desolate wasteland. One day, your Daddy (voiced by the ace Liam Neeson) goes missing! And so you set out to find him in the outside world, que tactical battles with giant mutants, massive amounts of gore, dark humour, and dog meat. Could be GOTY if you ask me.

And now, pictures!

Now talk about it!

Looking forward to this one. It should be an even bigger hit than Oblivion was.

Are Australians seriously getting a special version just to get around it's original banned status?

Yep, they had to take out Chems and stuff, because Austrailians are strict on drug abuse in the media.

I think its going to be better than Oblivion what with experience points, no enemy leveling etc. Collector's edition for me.

Hows the combat gonna work? Is it gonna be the turn based type or the type seen in games like Mass Effect?

I was about to ask the same thing... If it's like "Oblivion with guns," then I'd expect it would play kind of like an FPS but with stat management and damage tracking. That would be cool.

I actually am watching the Live Wire demo of it now and you are gonna have the option to do both. Both real time combat and the "turn based" which they call VATS. Gotta admit, the VATS looks kinda cool, and i usually hate anything turn based.

This game just got added to my must buy list.

I've never even played a Fallout game, but I'm almost definitely buying this because I went absolutely gaga loved Oblivion (which curiously enough happened to be the first Elder Scrolls game I played).

Hah, im with you. I enjoyed Oblivion and that was the first ES games i played. Iv also never played a Fallout but ill be getting this one.

Me too, but this game looks just too awesome to pass up. I'd like to download the first two, if anyone has a reliable source I could use.

The 100% awesomness and 0% badness, probably.

Ilove the option of normal shooting/VATS. I think I'll use VATS primarily on groups, and play enemies against each other(a la GI, where they said if you shoot the antennas of an ant he'll go beserk and attack his fellow ants). Also, the absolute freedom-not another way too big world(Oblivion), allows for deeper characters, and hopefully a deeper story as well.
This, Killzone 2, Resistance: Rise of Man, and Fable 2 are the games I'm looking forward to most. So far, RE5 just hasn't wowed me yet, even though the fourth RE is in my top three games of all time.

This game looks great.

Does anyone know how big the world is compared to Oblivion?

Its apparently going to be smaller, but still bigger than Bethesda originally expected.

Its a good thing though, because they sacrificed size for a much more detailed world. Presentation is one of this game's biggest imporvements over Oblivion.

Yeah. While I loved oblivion, it was a mixed bag when it came to immersion. Fallout 3 looks way more immersive though.

I didn't love Oblivion to say the least, but I think Fallout 3 looks fantastic!

By the way does it bother anyone else in the newer videos the way Todd will say something like:

"Welcome to Vault 101, where no one ever enters and no one ever leaves." and then five seconds later...

*pushes button*

*leaves*

This s the newest Fallout 3 article from ign, it has alot of interestin ****e. Specifically the photosynthesis and animal friendly perks, which will be 2 I'll for sure use my first run through. I also can't wait for a random woman to run up to me screaming to disable the bombs on her, hope I have enough demolition skills. Also, the wife beater perk sounds fun.:oldrazz:

EDIT: Also, does anyone have a good site where I could download Fallout 1 and 2. I'd really like to go through them while I am currentgenless.

OH. MY. GOD!!!!!

That power fist is sick.

One thing im really digging about the game is how great it looks in both 1st and 3rd person. I havent seen a game come close to this yet, well besides MGS4. Usually youll have a game set in 1st with 3rd person elements and when you pull back to 3rd it just doesnt look nearly as good. Ill prob spend most of my time in the 3rd person perspective so thats really cool to see it look so good. My antcipation for this one is really rising.

Im also loving the V.A.T.S system.

Preordered the CE the other day. The sample CD owns.. Butcher Pete is now near the top of my list.

I don't know anything about this game at all. It looks good.

Does anyone have like a list of features/reasons to get the game?
