Steel

If that's a fan costume, it's incredible.
It is a fan costume and I thought it was great too.:)

BTW I had nothing to do with it. I just found it on the web and thought it was cool. :)

It's certainly cooler than this guy...

"Spare change?"

Steel sucked so much.
Poor story.

Poor Judd Nelson had to take that role.

:(

I'd like to see a new Steel movie done right.

I'd love to see a new Steel movie too (preferably with Henry Simmons as the lead), but seeing as how John Henry isn't even Steel right now in the comics (his niece Natasha is Steel :down), I'd just settle for him making a comeback in general!

Steel Figurerine

That was a nice attempt at imitating the cosutme from the "Reign of Supermen" series, but I still think that this one is a little cleaner.

Shaquille O'Neal as Steel
(circa 1997)

I don't like the idea of people trying to imitate Superman. With him there are no substitues, and therefore, the costume is better off with out the \S/. The only thing wrong with the Shaq version is the helment.

That fan costume is actually modeled after the costume Steel had during the latter half of his solo series, not his original design from Reign of the Supermen.

I dug the S on that redesigned armor because Steel had his own logo, though some artists did draw it like Superman's.

I've spoken with teh guy who helped create the character, and he still gets crap about the movie today.

Ironically, the JLU designs of Steel is similar to the movie verison, just cooler-looking.

The JLU design seems to be a direct copy of the STAS design. :)

Steel was in STAS? Cool. I've only seen a dozen or so episodes.

Yeah, there were two episodes with John, one before he became Steel and then "Heavy Metal" was the episode that dealt with him becoming Steel for the first time. :)

I didn't know that John was in another episode before "Heavy Metal".

You ever see that episode where this guy was basically turned into Robocop? He had an advanced armor suit, became mad with power, and got into a fight with Superman? Steel designed that suit.

The episode in question is "Prototype." It's in volume 2 of the STAS boxsets.

I finally got to see this last week....it's not the comic character, it has a goofy storyline.....but it was fun.

If you watch it....don't go into it thinking of it as the comic book....just a popcorn action movie. Not the best, not the worst....a decent time killer.

The movie was terrible now that I know who Steel is now. Its probably worse than Catwoman. I still remember Steel using no n lethal weapons and thinking thats stupid.
