Stephen King's Epic "The Dark Tower" - Part 2

Edit: I thought he meant he has hope for it as in hope for The Dark Tower.

3 books in 95 mins. Sounds like they really tried here.

The movie going public have shorter attention spans. That's why Dunkirk is shorter than usual for a Nolan film, sillyheads. :p

Here's the entire plot of this piece of garbage. I bet I'm not going to be far off at all with this:

1. Man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed.
2. Jake Chambers has counselling in NY for nightmares.
3. Nightmares and visions take Jake to Dutch Hill.
4. Jake falls into Mid-World having avoided doorway demon and meets Roland.
5. Roland and Jake trek across Mid-World, see thinny.
6. Roland and Jake get to Manni village. Jake nearly kidnapped by Taheen.
7. Jake takes Roland to NY with help of Manni.
8. They track Taheen to Dixie Pig.
9. Big fight with Walter.
10. Back to Mid-world.

No Tull. No palaver. No way station. No speaking ring demon. No slow mutants. No 'go then, there are other worlds than these'.

95 minutes quickly killed any interest in this movie. Lordy.

Let's hope once HBO is done with Westworld they can pick this as their next big thing.

Definitely a lot of red flags popping up here. I feel bad for Idris Elba. He always falls short when it comes to these big franchise films.

I mean yeah, he's Heimdall in Thor, but to be perfectly honest, I maintain that Heimdall is a waste of his talents. He's OK in the role, but it's a role I think a lot of lesser talents could play and do rather well in actually. Elba IMHO is an acting giant and would've been a worthy candidate to play someone like T'Challa/Black Panther. And no, I have no issues at all with Boseman. I think he's a great casting choice, but that's just an example that I would've preferred a bigger role for Elba. Heck John Stewart in Green Lantern.

I think Idris Elba was born to play villains. I would have cast him as the DCEU Lex Luthor.

Hell, would've been preferable change from Eisenberg Luthor.

holy crap, that runtime... no way they could tell a story like that in a decent way with that time. This has been a pretty dire year for movies so far...few good ones here n there but man this year has to have some redeeming movies later on..I hope.

There's been a fair share of both great and crap films.

That's some great fan casting! Imagine him playing opposite Ben Afflek's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman.:hmr:

I'd have loved to have seen that.

Does Rothman prefer to release films with short run times?

Yep, see the run times of the majority of Fox blockbusters from about 2004-2010.

Off the top of my head there is X3, both FF movies, Eragon, Wolverine Origins, Predators, both AvP movies and many more.

Fox have put out some great blockbusters since he left.
