Stephen King's Epic "The Dark Tower" - Part 2

The showrunners need to write off the movie. Distance themselves from it entirely. Recast all the roles and make the show an adaption of the books.

The problem is, they want to do the Dark Tower, but they don't really want to do the Dark Tower.

they want blockbuster money. they dont want to do the dark tower. it's just IP for them. That's why they didnt decide to do Gunslinger movie and build it up from there and make 7 movies. Cause they dont have 10 years in front of them likely. Cause they dont want to wait to fruits to become ripe to enjoy them, they just want to eat it. Do you understand. They want money now, immediatly. They arent interested in making best movies available. They want universes and fasten up build up worlds without actually putting effort into making best available product, movie first.

That's how Sony operates. They are out of ideas, they are on verge of bankruptcy. That's how they destroyed Spider-Man franchise. That's how Emoji idea came to place. They just want quick cash and for stupid people to come and watch their movies.

I despise that studio.

Critics Consensus: Go then, there are other Stephen King adaptations than these.

Holy ****. :funny:

Idris and MM have to plug this thing, I know. But I know they weren't expecting this kinda reaction, lol. Two charismatic actors in a ****** adaptation of a classic story.

They are great respected actors, but it's not like they've never made or been in turds before, even turds based on popular books. Look at McConaughey as Dirk Pitt in Sahara.

...but in MM's defense, the writing on Sahara the movie was better than Sahara the book...

Sorry, I just have that opinion ever since I read the novel. Having said that, Dark Tower feels like another example of MM or his agent still having some kinks in regards to what mainstream movies to target.

Yeah the both know how to handle the promo tour for bad movie, hell Matthew is semi-pro at this :funny:

It reminds me of this parody skit of True Detective where some guys grill a dude playing McConaughey joking about all the awful movies he's been in:

"But then one evening in a dream, a mythical falcon swooped down and he told me the secret to artistic success. He told me read the scripts before you agree to do the films. So now I only do good projects. That's how I started that."

I've decided I'm going to download the worst cam torrent I can find of this movie, and watch it while I'm taking a ****.

There may be no one out there willing or caring enough to record a cam version of this one :funny:

You'd be surprised as to how many terrible movies got the camcord treatment through the decades.

I can't believe Sony is trying to push ahead with their TV adaptation of this. It's like they are actively trolling us.

If they decided not too do it, with the failure of the film, you might not see The Dark Tower adapted anywhere else.

It's face saving. Once the awful box office comes in, it'll either get quietly shunted away completely, or delayed until they can claim it's a reboot. I'd certainly say that if it did ever happen, the chances of Idris being involved are slim to none now. There'd be a recast. Same goes for McConaughay.

I think perhaps if it were recast, and the show was delayed for a while, you could just about get away with ignoring this movie completely and starting the whole thing again.

$1.8 million in previews. Basically the same as Valerian.

I also kinda feel like were told to just act like themselves, except more badass or evil. Any other director would've had them both get all chameleon with these roles but it's basically just Elba and McConnaghey fighting each other on screen.

...and chances are, that's from a lot of people who went to it not having read the reviews, as they dropped so late.

I think this is going to struggle to hit 15 million opening weekend, and will likely end its run on less than 35 million domestic and 100 million worldwide.

**** you Sony.

Who would have thought that one Dark Tower film that's not actually an adaptation of the Dark Tower novel would be met so poorly? Shocker.

"Glorified Dark Tower fan-fiction. That's what audiences want!"

He's made his money.
