Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin to Host the Oscars

Martin? okay he's done it before, but why Alec? Is he the voice of the political part of hollywood or something?

It has a lot to do with his role on 30 Rock.

He's really funny. Apparently he killed MC'ing an event recently and it got the producers thinking he'd work as a great host, especially with Steve Martin.

They've hosted SNL 29 times between them, too.

Martin guested on 30 Rock last season and then there was the SNL where Baldwin made a cameo. They owe part of their success to Lorne Michaels, they love hosting SNL, very experienced with live TV and I think it can be great to have two hosts to open the show and they can alternate throughout the show for pop ins.
