Scoop: Under the Dome Traps Mare Winningham for Mysterious Role
BY MEGAN MASTERS
Mare Winningham is taking a trip Under the Dome.
The two-time Emmy winner — most recently nominated for her turn on Hatfields & McCoys — will guest-star on CBS’ summer smash, TVLine has learned, in a role that is mysterious and maybe even a bit… malevolent?
Winningham will appear in a late-August episode as Agatha, a deceptively warm caretaker who welcomes Big Jim into the Chester’s Mill home she’s looking after. However, it quickly becomes apparent that her intentions are anything but pure.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Mare Winningham on Under the Dome,” executive producer Neal Baer said in a statement. “She’s my good-luck charm: I worked with her on ER, as well as on Law & Order: SVU (for which she was Emmy-nominated as Best Guest Actress). She brings truth and believability to every role, and she will definitely leave viewers talking.”
An original big screen Brat Packer, Winningham’s most recent TV credits include Hawaii Five-0, the aforementioned Hatfields & McCoys and Torchwood.
Under the Dome, which to date has drawn nearly 20 million viewers to its pilot, airs Mondays at 10/9c.
I mean thats just classic Randall Flagg though, lol. It's hard to say, I personally love most of his books and his endings are very fitting and thematically tied, but rarely too cliche or obvious. I also love how his stories intertwine within each other but still work marvelously as standalone stories (imo).lol agreed
For me personally I just felt it was anti climatic. The way I read blurbs about it and the way it was being set up I thought that the ending was going to be the final battle for humanity or a battle of good and evil.
Turns out the "battle" was nothing and Randall Flagg was wasted and went from being this scary dark powerful figure to being tricked, duped and used to nothing. So disappointed
I find the guys outside the dome the creepiest part of the show. Even when the crazy cop pulls out a gun... they just stand there like statues. I mean, granted, they probably know the dome is bulletproof, but still.
Well they can't hear what's going on in the dome. So if they are ordered to not look at it, it wouldn't be that hard to miss a gun going off.
How could they interact anyway though? The dome is impenetrable. Even if they want to help, they can't.
I just realized it was young Sam in the ep too.I didn't realize young Sam from Supernatural was in this. I haven't seen the first episode yet, but I did catch tonight's episode. Its interesting, but I'm not entirely hooked yet.
Good 2nd episode. Im still really interested in this. Everyone's story is interesting except the teens. I seen the McAllister kid, Colin Ford, do better acting and most of the dialogue they get isnt that good.
And I wanted to slap him when he was recording video instead of helping with the fire.
I find evil Andy samberg hilarious.
