Steven Spielberg Teams with Stephen King for Under the Dome

Natalie Zea Will Stir Up Trouble Under the Dome

Is Natalie Zea ready to turn the tables…?

After being victimized for much of The Following‘s freshman run, the actress is heading Under the Dome with a “continuing” role on CBS’ summer series, where it appears she will rouse some rabble and stir some pots.

Executive producer Neal Baer tells TV Guide Magazine that Zea, whose TV credits also of course include Justified, will play Maxine, “a woman who makes an alarming appearance” in Episode 9.

“If you think Jim Rennie” — one of the tale’s antagonists, played by Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris — “is trouble, you haven’t seen trouble yet,” Baer teases.

Based on the Stephen King novel about a community that is suddenly and mysteriously closed off from the rest of the world by a transparent membrane*, Under the Dome is set to premiere Monday, June 24. Filming wraps later this summer, long before Fox’s The Following starts up production on Season 2 (to again premiere midseason).

* The Simpsons Movie jokes have been made for almost seven months now, folks. Do better.

Premieres tomorrow night.

I'm excited for this. UTD isn't King's best book, but the characters and concept could spawn a solid series.

I'm just glad to have something current to watch. I haven't been interested in anything since the Big Bang Theory and the Walking Dead finished their respective seasons.

cant wait for this ,25 positive reviews and only 1 negative review on Metacritic

yeah, I'm hyped for this... especially after seeing that plane fly right into the barrier... wonder how high up that dome goes?

Almost 10 minutes til the show, east coast.

Really amazing show and first episode. One hour went by in a flash, I never saw any of these twists coming. I'm wondering how long they keep the twists up, if every episode is as good as this -- best show on Tv.

Liked it, didnt love it. Some of the actor's are SO FAR OFF from what I pictured in my head when reading :( (except Dean Norris who is exactly who I pictured)

I thought it was a pretty great start. So glad it's just a summer series, wont have to wait years to get the answers.

So for those that haven't read the books, what are your thoughts? Aliens? Government experiment? Act of God?

watching it now.

Are they doing an encore of the pilot? I missed it.

Watching now. I'm digging it but like with most King works adapted for film or tv, it's chock full of unintentional humor. Hope it gets better

I thought it was good...cept for "
crazy kid getting rejected, trying to committ suicide and kidnapping"

I liked it... eerie atmosphere to it... the cow scene, whoa...

and that jealous nutjob who's 'protecting' that girl needs his s**t seriously kicked and hurt BAD...

It was... okay. The acting is not great and all of the cgi was awful.

So for those that haven't read the books, what are your thoughts? Aliens? Government experiment? Act of God?

At this point I'm guessing act of god or aliens. I'm pretty sure that

those who fainted and started mumbling might be the psychics of the series who are able to tap into somewhere else, having psychics or a psychic character seems like a very Stephen King aspect so I'm pretty sure that's what's going just unsure why it's just them

So far, quite different from what I remember in the book.

The actor for Big Jim is good but, not big enough.

Never read the book. I loved what I saw last night. I'll watch this live & DVR (insurance should I fall asleep). Warehouse 13 gets the On Demand treatment.

That Junior & Angie situation escalated quickly. Damn psycho. I think his dad knows something ain't right with that boy. He looked scared when he went in for the hug.

"Under the Dome" Scores Big Ratings

Viewers flocked in droves to CBS' TV series adaptation of Stephen King's novel "Under the Dome" on Sunday night.

The premiere episode pulled in a 3.2 rating/9 share and a whopping 13.1 million total viewers for the network. That makes it the most watched summer debut for a series since 2007’s "The Singing Bee", and CBS’ most watched summer debut since 2000's "Big Brother".

It's also the best opening-night demo score for any drama series since the premiere of "Revolution" last fall on NBC.

It's especially impressive after various other network Summer-launched series like ABC's "Motive" and "Mistresses" along with USA's "Graceland" fizzled on launch.
