Steven Spielberg Teams with Stephen King for Under the Dome

The off'ed two of the most annoying characters on the show with the premier…. :) but introduced two more i.e The school teacher and the dome-lake girl……hmmm? :(

So wait

Junior's Mom is alive so most likely she faked her death because she knew the Dome was coming either that or Big Jim knows she's alive and has been lying to junior all this time. Which isn't all surprising given how big jim has lied to Junior to just about everything

I don't think she's alive. It looked to me like Junior saw her in a vision.

He is talking about the end of the premiere. A woman wakes up in an apartment & says "James" & she starts painting & she looks like Juniors mom

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

This scene creeped me out. Why is she putting it in those terms, like the humans are the problem? I would have said the problem was a shortage of crops or resources, not that "we're" the problem. Is this teacher being influenced by the dome?

Stay tuned.

there's something not quite right with the teacher... and speaking of not quite right, I can't get used to Big Jim being the benevolent leader...

unless he's playing it and running game on everyone and waiting for that right moment when he's back to his true colors... but then again, he DID save Barbie from crashing... hmmmm...

He's just trying really hard to redeem himself, he'll probably inevitably revert right back to his murderous ways, but I hope he at least stays good for a while, that's a nice change ^^

Good episode otherwise. It's not a show that I would call necessarily good, but it's just so entertaining.

My thoughts exactly, about the teacher and Big Jim.

I'm trying to get out of the habit of comparing this to the book. That's why I can't see Big Jim as this all do-gooder--not without a selfish reason. But he did try to get information out of Joe and Norrie about the dome, so maybe the old Big Jim is still there...

The only reason i'm still watching this is to find out the Dome's end-game; i actually think this show is quite atrocious and am surprised it got a second season given Fox's track record of canceling shows at the drop of a hat.

I'm with you. But is it FOX or CBS that's producing it? Nonetheless, it's really surprising how many badly written moments in the show make me cringe. For instance, in this second episode, when they're about to start the funeral and the dead girl's brother is missing, Barbie says,"I'll find him", as though somehow it would be easier for him vs. the kid's girlfriend. Cut to, Barbie finding the kid in the restaurant.

I really do want to understand the dome, but moments like these (and there are several in every episode), are wearing me down. When I watch the show I feel like a dome has fallen over my sense of reason, and thus I continue watching. Hopefully I can solve the mystery of this dome and get out before it's too late!!!

The show is on CBS....but I agree, that is pretty much why I am still watching.

It helps a lot that this plays during the summer on a Monday. If this played in the fall it would fall to the waist side.

My bad guys, i assumed it was Fox. I usually watch it OnDemand, so had no idea what channel it was on.:)

But i'm still surprised it was renewed; Network television execs are so trigger happy when it comes to cancellations; which is why i don't invest in any of their shows anymore.

Oh definitely.....and the fact that it is on the network where most of my shows that I watch weekly are found.

This show is so lovably stupid. It feels like it was produced in the early 90s, with the staging and the actors. It just has that cheap CBS/big network safe vibe that we have forgotten about in recent years. The whole crop-dusting scene was just so eye-rolling.

I shouldn't be watching new episodes of this show every week in 2014, I should be finding dusty VHS copies of it in my nearest Goodwill store...

If this show continues to be bad, i might just read the book. :o

This show actually got Decent rattings last year which is probably why it got a 2nd season.

I'm really starting to hate this new teacher.

I started to read the comments to catch up since I didn't watch the second episode until yesterday but realized I don't care (that much about the show to respond)... I was glad they started offing some of the dumber members of the group but in its place it's gotten even more ridiculous and convoluted.

I'm going to watch this next episode but it may be my last.
