Steven Spielberg Teams with Stephen King for Under the Dome

I wondered that too. Has the army given up? I cant remember if Aktion is part of the military, kind of like how Area 51 is supposedly a secret branch of the military.

I think they're private military contractors. The head guy did state that he wanted the red door/entry way blocked so the army couldn't follow.

I'll be surprised (shocked really) if it gets a 4th season. I'm enjoying this new storyline but I've learned to not associate it with the book. My brother watched it into part of the 2nd season and quit. He read the book too.

One of the best moments from episode 11

And when Barbie fails to fake out Eva and has to escape.

I don't know why I'm still watching this show. It's gotten so terrible.

The last couple of episodes have been lackluster. I'm still liking this season compared to season 2. But I do think they need to wrap it up. It's becoming a ratings loser and I'd hate for them to end it in the middle of a plot line. I've seen this happen before.

I think CBS forgot this was suppose to be a mini series.

‘Under the Dome’ to End After Season 3 on CBS

“Under the Dome” will wrap up with its current season, as the Season 3 ender will serve as the series finale, Variety has learned. The drama, based on Stephen King’s novel, has been cancelled and will not return for a fourth season.

“Two years ago, ‘Under the Dome’ broke new ground in the summer and became an instant hit on CBS, as well as with viewers around the world,” said Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS Entertainment. “‘Dome’s’ event storytelling and multi-platform business model paved the way for more original summer programming with the successful rollouts of ‘Extant’ and ‘Zoo.’ We’re excited to present the final chapter in Chester’s Mill as the story comes full circle, with the dome coming down as dramatically as it went up.”

The Season 3 finale on Sept. 10 will answer many questions about the dome’s origin and power, as two groups of residents will engage in one final conflict that some won’t survive.

First premiering in June 2013, “Under the Dome” opened to some of the best numbers for any summer series in years, but has consistently declined over the past two years. In live plus same-day, it averaged a 2.7 rating in adults 18-49 and 11.2 million viewers overall in its first season, but fell to a 1.6 in the demo and 7.2 million in season two and is currently averaging a 1.0 in 18-49 and 4.9 million total viewers.

This summer, “Under the Dome” remains among the higher-rated scripted shows, and spikes on average by 80% in 18-49 (to 1.8) and about 60% in total viewers (to nearly 8 million) when going from same-night to “live plus-7,” according to Nielsen.

Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Eddie Cahill, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Mackenzie Lintz and Kylie Bunbury star in “Under the Dome,” which is produced by CBS Television Studios and Amblin Television with exec producers Steven Spielberg, Neal Baer, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, Tim Schlattmann and Peter Leto.

I want Mike Vogel/Rachelle/Dean all to join a DC show/movie.

It had to end because it's beginning to fall flat and there's only so much you can do with a dwindling population in a dome about to crystallize.

True, otherwise the show becomes a little bit Lost (I really should stop making that pun but it's so appropriate when it comes to this show. )I don't think I have the patience for another Lost.

Yeah. Because the two shows are totally the same.

Oh yeah, that has to be a goner. It's my understanding that it's doing worse than this AND it has to be pricier because they've got an actual star as the series lead. I just can't imagine CBS cans one without taking out the other.

I think Halle took a pay cut this season? It's an interesting premise that just hasn't been played out that well.

I gave up on this show at the start of season 2 and I was surprised to see a season 3 had been green lit but now that they've cancelled it I can't say I'm happy with it but I also don't feel all that bad over it either.

Extant I still watch but like Under the Dome I won't be all that disappointed if it is canceled soon either. Both of these shows started as "event series" and then wandered into the woods, never to see a coherent storyline again.

Not surprised though I do like this season better than last season.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Extant go next. Really enjoyed season 1 but this season is kind of a mess.

If Big Jim and Junior survive the end of the series after Angie and Melanie died, I'm going to be so mad.

Also, I have to wonder how they can wrap everything up with that other group of aliens coming. Unless they show up in the finale and Barbie shoots them all and makes Christine look like a complete idiot.

My guess is that Julia, Barbie, Norrie, and Joe survive. Everyone else left in Chester's Mill is a goner.

Junior is gonna be really hard to convince. He's totally locked in. And was that the same actress but in a blonde wig

Funny how out of 3 TV shows produced by Spielberg, one was not good/mediocre ( Falling Sky ), one is bad ( Under the Dome ) and one average ( Extant ). The name isn't a stamp of quality anymore :(
