I'm looking forward to seeing this soon! Iron Giant!! :ilv::hmr::woot:

The source material being lame and *********ory is more of a reason not to make the film at all than a defense of the films nonsense.

I think the writing style of the novel, and it's structure, as if written by a 'young person' is the point, read it as an adult, and one will find it sucks and is lame, transport oneself back to being a teen and experiencing new things then you enjoy it more.

Come again?

Come again?

I'll try again, when reading RPO, the novel, read the text as a 'teen' rather than an adult (if one is an adult) you'll enjoy it more, in other words, put yourself as Wade. Otherwise, as is being said by others, it comes off as lame and a bit sucky.

Not the source material. The basic idea of the film. It would be like complaining about Wreck It Ralph and how it treats Pacman. Or watching Roger Rabbit and saying it should be embarrassed with how it handled Bugs Bunny.

Think I could be seeing this tomorrow, not sure...

I read that one spoiler about that one particular movie...

I think Spielberg crossed a line here. Of course I'll wait to cast full judgement when I see the movie but I fundamentally disagree with that idea. I don't like it at all.
