Steven Spielberg's "Ready Player One"

Not saying it wasn't. But, was it Jaws or Jurassic Park? No.

TBH I'm not expecting Jurassic Park or Jaws level quality but I'm hoping it's on par with Tintin or War of the Worlds.

I can see that, but if we are fair, that kind of applies to all of his best work imo. The predictability is outweighed by the ride itself. I am getting excited for this. Probably more then I should, but I am hoping I end up having a very good time and this is something I want to revisit over the years.

We all bring our baggage. But for me this movie feels like a throwback, but in a way that is relevant now. Specifically with the bringing together of pop culture. It reminds me a bit of Roger Rabbit in that way.

Sorry, Jurassic Park is nowhere near Jaws level. I see it's a starting point for many, it maybe their first 'big film' (depends on people's ages I grant you) but as a SFX defining starting point yes, it's an essential note point but it's not top tier Spielberg for me, as others are saying, both E.T. and Raiders knock JP into a cocked hat.

TOTALLY engrossed in every second of @readyplayerone. It is one of the most technically brilliant things I have EVER seen. Spielberg is one of the few directors who could orchestrate this kind of visual symphony that SO many people will enjoy. Pretty amazing.

Reviews are promising but they're not really convincing me to see it any more. I frankly just don't know what to make of the film from everything I've seen so far.
