Steven Spielberg's ''Terra Nova''

The only thing is these people are the best of the best from a time period where there's hardly anything resembling a jungle even from this time period but we are to believe they can handle themselves so adequately in the Jurassic jungle where almost everything living in it can be lethal? I don't know it just seems their approach to being there seems too lax to me. Too many civilians in my opinion. Imagine if astronauts could have a family members tag along the day we have some kind of station on the moon.

well, looks like they don't have any weapons to protect themselves from a meteor

Really enjoyed this night's episode and based on the preview, next week looks to be a big one. Still got to catch up on last week's episode, missed it due to being out on Halloween but I'm sure it'll be on Hulu this week.

Who the flying **** is the technical advisor for this show?

Even if an EMP is capable of shorting everything in its range, it wouldn't have just burnt out the chips of their equipment...it would have burnt out all the circuitry leading to the chip. Meaning, replacing a single godforsaken chip wouldn't have been the deus ex machina it was in this episode.

the meteor thing kinda got me thinking...
they've explained the alternate timeline, not effecting the future, and they ultimate goal (or what they what the people to believe) is a fresh start, and all that

but, aren't they worried about whatever wiped out the dinosaurs and brought on the ice age (in they timeline) happening again
(gained they are probably far enough back that those event aren't due for another million years or so...)

The whole logic of this series is right out the window. I decided to jump ship on this series. Maybe Ill come back for the series finale to see if anything has changed. Noone on this show can act outside of the avatar guy and the father and mother, everyone else is doing there best daytime soap opera acting. The story is too much hinged on the kid actors and really drags the show down. I would be surprised if this show gets renewed. I would have prefered if they stuck with dealing with the dinosaurs and go more into the time travel aspect but I guess due to budget contraints they cant. Maybe its the cinematography but the whole show just feels low budget and not up there with other shows.

The event that wipes out the dinosaurs is around 20 MILLION years later. They must figure that something will be invented in the next 20 MILLION years to save them. Considering that we moved from cave man to space explorers in 10 to 20 THOUSAND years (I think that's the correct amount of time...didn't actually look it up)....they believe that we can advance pretty far in 20 million.

They probably use bio circuit or shielded components but not for the main chip.
It is Sci-Fi, sometimes you have to come up with an explanation of your own.

The girl did say there was something dispersed in the air when the EMP was detonated.

I enjoyed this weeks ep, I thought the stuff with Jim and his daughter was cute and I have no issue with the older daughter and the young solider who seems to be from 1945. The big attack on the compound was pretty cool and hopefully we'll find out more about the Death Star Taylor's son is building in the coiming eps.

One thing I did find funny was that thing being pulled out of the guys stomach, I mean it was daylight when they started and they were still pulling by the night, it was like comedy streamers coming out of a comedian's sleeve, if he had that much in his belly he'd have had no room for his organs. :funny:

this week's episode was better, not that much better, but was more enjoyed than the all the others so far, mostly because something actually happened.

Well, at least they resolved the son's idiocy issues, and the plot seems to be moving along now. Next week's episode looks interesting.

Decent episode this week, I liked the daughter getting a proper little storyline and Taylor remains a compelling character, his showdown with that Kamono (sp) was badass. :D

Next weeks looks like a biggie as it's going to put Taylor against Jim for the first time.

It's not entirely out of the realm of reason. Considering how slow they were going to pull it out. Even tapeworms can grow up to 100 Feet or so.

I just realized their leader was the secretary Christian Bale plays golf with in "Batman Begins".

Wow. That is her. Mira is so fine to me. It's hard for me to take her seriously, sometimes, it's really distracting.

Mira annoying me....... she acts like a girl that just got cheated on and she wants revenge......... it's really annoying.............

Yeah it does feel like they had a fling that went bad sometimes.

Did anyone watch this last episode? I just watched it today on DVR, and it was decent. Got some major backstory about the purpose of Terra Nova and Taylor's motivations versus the Sixers. Then again, I can also see all that being twisted onto its head later on.

Agreed on both counts, I really want to believe Taylor because he's easily the best character in the show IMO, but he may well be at the very least telling half truths.

I had that same feeling about Taylor telling half truths. If they ever decide to write him off god forgive them because I'm gonna find it very hard to continue watching.

Same feelings here but we didn't heard the Sixers and Lucas side of the story yet.
Taylor appears to be a man of honor, harsh but just.

Yeah that's how I feel.

ok, TN is officially 1 for 10. It's nice to actually have a good episode for this show. The potential is there, but they pissed a lot of that away with the opening 9 episodes. Hopefully now that they are done with the terrible character establishment they have delivered, the story proper will be more entertaining, and interesting. Still think the son and daughter are the two worst characters on the show, they both need acting lessons, or to have their character directions changed to something both actors can handle. Good episode, and I hope this is not a peak, but a new average for episode quality.

Didn't the daughter ran a DNA test in no time in the past episode? they need 24h now?
(wich is unbelievable considering they technological level...)
