It was the first thing that popped into my head at the time. Gets my point across, at least.

Yes it does....totally understand your point.:)

You see, I hate it when people use that argument. It is stupid. But just because they can't do better doesn't mean they can't critique what someone else did. That is like saying sports analyst can't criticize a coaching move, because they have never coached. I think it is a weak argument.
That's not the point. Most naysayers act like they can do better so they bash almost anything that's not to their liking and state their opinion as fact as if the movie would've been of better quality if only they used their ideas. You can critique all you want everyone does it but it's childish to think that these fat cats at Marvel or DC should listen to you because you're a fan. They NEVER listen.

Some listen. Some watch.

HHHMMMMM not sure what to think about this news as i have never read any FF comics (all my FF knowledge comes from the cartoon and a little extra reading on the Internet).

Its well known here i'm not the biggest fan of Story or the first movie, but i do hope this turns out to be good. The more good superhero movies the better IMO. They need to be careful with the Fantasicar though, has the potential to be TOO campy, but could also be a cool vehicle.

Ummm, its one article. You think they are going to write an entire story around the Fantasticar? LOL ok.
no, i don't. but i think they should focus on better writing than a "wow" factor. good casting and good acting cannot overcome a bad script or bad writing.

I agree, but this is just a blog. lol

Prolly some guy juss pretending to be Story too.

Well actually even with all of my suspicious thoughts...its been proven to be Tim by strong sources. And no, not the fact that his brother is on his friend list:rolleyes:, actual sources.

Ehhh. Until we see actual evidence of the things being talked about I will remain skeptical.

I understand...

When was SS or Galactus in the ultimate universe of the FF? Unless he was in another book I don't get.

Check out "Ultimate Galactus" it's a compiled three-part story. I hear it's terrible.

Okay just by the images, it is terrible. I don't even need to read the story. What the hell? Surfer looks like a naked Archangel and Galactus (or Gah lak tus) freakin' awful. Anyway, I will probably see the movie no matter what, but will be greatly disappointed if those are the herald and planet devourer we get.

It was in three different mini-series that culminated in "Ultmate Extinction"

versus what Kirby/Lee gave us in the 60s....which is better....for my money without a shadow of a doubt....Galactus and the Surfer of the 60s versus our new versions...

Thanks!

Well I think that pretty much confirms they won't use the Ultimate version of the Surfer. It's one thing to use some images from the Ultimate versions for inspiration, but they're not going to change an iconic character just because he looks that way in the ultimate book.

I see possibly a version that maybe takes from both....

I'm going to wait and see some pics from the movie before I freak out...:)

Wow, I hope they don't use those, what the hellis with Galactus? It looks like a space ship? Or part of the old one's head....made into a space ship. How come people keep spelling his name like gah lak tus? O, and that surfer sucked to, only that pic reminds me so much of constantine...lol

This is exactly what I was hoping for! Ripping things straight from the pages of the comics!!! :)

I tend to agree with you. I'm glad he likes the comics enough to include little details like the fantasticar, the FF logo, and the shout-outs to Kirby. Since the average moviegoer knows very little about the FF outside of the first film, I tend to view these comic references as Story's way of catering to comic fans.

Everything I've heard so far sounds promising. I have no doubt this will be a better movie. I really think it's going to be MORE SUCCESSFUL than the first film on every level : story (no pun intended), box office, and critical reviews.

I agree, and I think the first film was a big hurdle to get past. We're used to seeing the FF as an established, respected team of superheros with high-tech vehicles etc., but they couldn't really be the Fantastic Four in the first film since they were just getting their powers.

I love that they're going to skip forward a few years to give us the real FF rather just continuing where the last film left off.

That's a really good point. You really couldn't just have the FF show up, start fighting as a team, and have it seem plausible without spending a decent amount of time on how they got their powers, the interpersonal dynamics of the group and what motivated them to work as a team.

Now that all of that has been established, Story will have more time to focus on crafting a solid screenplay. As much as I enjoyed the first film , I'll be the first to admit that the story itself was one of the weakest elements of the movie. I have no dobut the story will have more substance this time.

Even worse than I could imagine, and I despise almost everything they've done with their so-called "ultimate" books,
The suckage bar has been raised. Or lowered, I guess.
Impeach Quesada!!(I bet I could sell that on eBay as a bumpersticker...)

why would they go with inferior version of classic charaters...didn't they learn their lesson with "Doom".
