Story Gives FF2 Update

why would they go with inferior version of classic charaters...didn't they learn their lesson with "Doom".

Tim story probably learnt the lesson but FOX did NOT!!!!

They just care about MONEY ($$$)

I think it is an issue of money. You see, doing Ultimate Galactus is cheaper than 616 Galactus. With 616 Galactus, you have to try new things, but Ultimate Galactus would be similar to doing the machines in the Matrix. I think the Surfer will get a classic look, since they actually call him the Surfer in the movie (in UE I can't remember them ever calling him the Surfer). I disagree with doing Ultimate Galactus, but that is why I feel they would be doing it that way.

Chances are they won't. People are jumping based on Tim's comments, but clearly he is talking primarily about set design and the look of the Baxter Building when you read his comments in context.

I wouldn't be surprised if Galactus goes through some revisions, but there are a lot of Silver Surfer fans out there who want to see the character they remember from their childhood, and it would be foolish to change the character on a whim.

I kind of prefer Ultimate Galactus over the original...I don't know...just something about a big guy floating in space that just didn't keep my interest.

I like the fact that he mentioned Jack Kirby, that's the only way to go with this movie, just do all the kirby stuff and you can't go wrong!!

It depends on how they portray him.....I'm afraid all the way around...

No, I just don't think the original Galactus will make it with the regular movie goer....but I don't want them to go all the way in the direction of the Ultimate...do I have an idea of what they could do?...no.....so thats kind of scarry......I'm just REALLY afraid of a Power Rangers villain, and a villain that will be laughed at by the audience.....everytime I see that big purple man....thats what I think of...

And tell me this.....has anyone from Fox or Marvel mentioned that "Galactus" would be in this sequel....could they still have SS and use the Gal dude...????and call him that? not Galactus?

Speilberg should be directing this film, maybe even Tim Burton. I like the Fantasticar, I like Galactus and the Silver Surfer. I just don't like Tim Story. The first was a f'n disaster, and this one is going to be worse, really campy I know it. I'm already concerned.

Tim Burton would not do this well. The FF is too light hearted for his style of filmmaking.

Hopefully they will keep galactus roughthly the way he is. The whole big space fleet hasn`t been threatening since id4. You can easily imagine defeating a thousand small commmunity minded 5 foot bug men in ships while a giant building high guy sparking with energy would require a new game plan. I mean i can see the arguements for the fleet gah lak tus in that it removes the power rangers villain threat but it doesn`t look iconic enough, you can`t catch the cinem goer`s attention with an off the shelve cg invasion fleet. And the difficulty in trying to explain that somehow the whole fleet is one being would take too much valuable screen time.

Silver surfer will proib remain as he is. Otherwise he isn`t quite surfing and then that sort of nullifies the name. Like having a pacifist russian called captain america. Or calling john goodman the invisible woman.lol.

My opinion for the record:

I DONT WANT GALACTUS LOOKING LIKE A SWARM OF INSECTICONS!!

I've waited many years to see him come to the big screen. Please give us the classic Galactus - corny helmet and all!

I'm just wondering if the Fantasticar is going to be the tub or the second version.
Either way they will need to bring some sort of transport in because of the Surfer, not that it's fast enough to catch SS, but, it would be alot easier for at least 3 of them since Johnny's the only ony who flies, and I'm sure Stretch would be able to walk all over town quickly.

You forget Sue's ability to glide as well....and I have a feeling from what I've seen the last few months that we will be seeing some of this...

I agree that they should stick with the classic look, but, keep in mind to every race in the universe, Galactus looks different in thier eyes, so to a race of bugs, that may be what the big G looks like.
To Beta Ray Bill's race, he looks like a huge starfish. Does anyone have a scan from the Trial of Reed, where all the races view Galactus and there's a page of different images?

That's something she doesn't learn until later, in the comics tho JMA.
I think that if Sue learns to do that, it should be a great strain, like in the final FF vs Doom scene, where it made her nose bleed.
Think about it, she doesn't really make floating discs she makes along polls that she can stand on and move, that's the way I've always understood it, like stilts. In order to make it more believable I don't think they should go into anti graviti disc type deals for Sue stick with more plausable ideas for now.

Vartha, this movie is said to be 2 years in the future according to Avi....plus its not the comics....its an adaptation of that.....Jessica has been learning to snowboard and she hates the cold....I think she wants to sell Sue gliding and wants it to look good....also if we went by the timing of the comics she would never be the Invisible Woman because we only have 12 years for all 4 movies...I think she pulls out this power because of the SS...

Also, how long was it before she did something like enclose a super nova???? years if I had to guess.....

I don't think it would be that inplausable with her powers for her to float on discs etc.

Much like how she creates forcefields around objects. She just creates one under her. they would just be floating force fields. Flat of course. And she would push them along or make them longer to walk on.

I remember an interview on the Latino Review where Arad was pushed on Galactus and replied he would look like he does in the books. This was quite a while ago.

Hmmmm.....I don't remember that....the most recent we have from Avi is him saying he won't confirm if Galactus is or isn't in the movie....

I'm surprised that that Latino Review ad didn't make it here...that would have been huge news...

This is the only Latino Review since the first movie, and its not about F4 2...
the interview prior to this one is an interview with Avi and Tim about the first movie...

I didn't know that it was 2 years into the future, but, still, Sue's force field, discs, and even force ball are all conected to Sue, they never really leave her body.
Even in the movie Reed says that the feild around Sue is what makes her warp light around her, as a force field it actually gets pushed off Sue's body as a weapon or Shield.
I remember a classic Kirby drawing on how it worked, he basically showed the Field coming from Sues head never actually leaving her body. She eventually learns how to manipulate the field with different parts of her body, making stilts, clamps whatever she needs much like Reed can manipulate his body.
I think Byrne actually had Sue seperating the force field from Sue but she could only hold 2 objects at a time, but they do not float on thier own.

In the MK issues when they are stranded in the desert she forms gliders for her, Reed and Ben, separately.....they are not holding only to the originals with the movies.....they zipped through the desert very speedily.....and she is quite proud of this ability......I think we are going to see this in the movies....maybe not the next....but actually I think we will see them for sure....Sue has come A LONG WAY from the early years....and we are past the early years as far as I can tell....I have a feeling they are all going to be quite comfortable with all of their powers....and will show them quickly. IMO there is not need to stay with the exact timeline of the comics.....move it on and lets see some fun action...

I'm not sure I like that idea. I aways thought her Field was a part of her, that idea is almost bordering on PSI type powers. Now if the FF used the up draft from Johnny's heat and they were on force gliders, which road those winds I could see it, but, having them move on thier own isn't the original power.

I'm not sure that that's true. That may be just an artist's representation of her projecting a field... not necessarily that the field is an extension of her.

She's blown up robots from the inside with her fields... if they were connected to her it would be more like she was spearing them from the outside.

She's also put a force bubble around the Hulk's head to suffocate him. If the bubble were connected to her... you can be sure that in struggling to breathe, the Hulk would toss her around like a rag doll.
