Street Fighter: The Comic Book

No bison never killed Ryu and Ken and Ryu both have the same master.

Hhhmm......well, in the Street Fighter bios for Akuma and in the Alpha movie they said that Akuma had killed Gouken, there Master, using the 'Forbiden Technique'. I guess hes talking about the Shin Gouku-Satsu(sp?).......

The comic I had was made prior to the release of any of the Alpha games, so I guess they changed the story around.

So if Akuma killed Ken and Ryu's master, why were they all hardcore into kicking Bison's ass?

Because Bison usually tries to enlist them in his schemes to take over the world with his organization "Shadowlaw", which runs acts of terrorism, weapons and drugs trafficing, and, as one person put it, "just about anything that is illegal." He tends to brainwash people who refuse.

WHY? Who knows. Bison's just obsessed with power. At heart a flat villain. Although in the anime "Street Fighter II V" Bison claimed that Shadowlaw wanted to destroy the governments of Earth that were destroying the planet with pollution and "petty wars with each other". Seems kind of hypocritical to me, and the notion that one can have an unstoppable, world smashing army so long as you have enough karate men that shoot fireballs from their palms is a little weak, but...

Well, Ryu beats up on a good deal of regular people pretty viciously throughout the Street Fighter II movie. Although I don't see how all the karate men in the world are gonna stand up to tanks and missiles.

There doing the street fighter comics based off the games it has nothing to do with the movies. The games is where Street Fighter began. See the storys get changed around cause the old street fighter comics i had that went up to only 8 issues had it bison killing Ryu's master. Even if it was Akuma Ryu would still go after M. Bison after Akuma.Still got one more month then the first issue comes out cant wait after reading issue #0

i just got the preview magazine with a new gamepro magazine and damn does that art look good!

I'm gonna have to try to find a copy. I heard that Joe Mad will be doing some interior art work...finally :o

I really hope this becomes an ongoin series so other fighters can have story arcs.It would be amazing imagine seeing a story arc with Sean Yun & Yang fighting together and acting like yungins.Or Guy and Cody fighting together again in the streets of metro city.I am defintly picking this title up every month.

Can someone tell me the story behing the street fighter games?Ive been playing for a long time but never caught on to the story.

Did any one get number 0? The issue was pretty short but it was sweet.

I went to my local comic store, but they didn't have it.:(

You can't get Street Fighter #0 in any stores, unless they themselves went to the San Diego Convention and got it for sale. But thats illegal. Other than that, you could only get it through Ebay:o.....

STREET FIGHTER SELLS OUT

Image Comics on Wednesday announced that Diamond has completely sold out of Street Fighter #1 by Ken Siu-Chong, Alvin Lee, Arnold Tsang and Andrew Hou two weeks prior to its in-store date of Sept. 4.

A second printing of Street Fighter #1 has already been scheduled and will be in stores Sept. 10. The second printing is available for order now.

"I think it's safe to say that many retailers underestimated the demand for the all-new Street Fighter," said Image director of marketing Eric Stephenson. "Since Street Figher #0 debuted at Comic-Con International in San Diego last month, though, there's been a huge swell of interest in this title. People want this book."

Street Figher #1 was originally solicited with three covers: Cover A by Joe Madureira, Cover B by Arnold Tsang and Cover C by Jo Chen. In addition to the variant covers, Street Figher #1 also includes a bonus prequel story by Madureira.

"We want to make sure that everyone that wants a Street Fighter comic book will have the opportunity to get one, and so have gone back to print right away, in an effort to make the second printing available as quickly as possible," said Erik Ko, chief of operations of UDON.

Stephenson was also quick to point out that while Street Figher has its roots in the '80s, it's appeal is not nostalgia based.

"I don't think there's anything 'retro' about Street Figher, because unlike the many '80s properties that have experienced a resurgence over the last couple years, Street Figher has remained an ongoing concern," he said. "People are still playing the video game and there's still an interest in the incredibly rich world these characters exist in. This is book very firmly rooted in the 'now.'"

Street Fighter #2 also features three covers: Cover A by Arnold Tsang, Cover B by Adam Warren and Cover C by Scott Campbell. Warren also contributes a backup story pitting Street Fighter's two leading ladies -- Chun-Li and Cammy -- against one another...

The Concept Of Street Fighter

In the universe of Street Fighter, fighters of every size, shape and color collide in a global battle for supremacy. From every corner of the world, martial artists, boxers, wrestlers and fighters of every conceivable sort perform superhuman acts in their willing (or unwilling) participation in the Street Fighter Tournament-the contest being hosted by M. Bison, the sadistic dictator and leader of the underground Shadaloo Criminal Organization. Some contestants fight for reasons as diverse as their nationalities... some fight for money, answers, or vengeance, while others fight for reasons completely shrouded in mystery...

Street Fighter, the legendary franchise by Capcom that revolutionized gaming and entertained players and fans for over a decade with its unforgettable cast of World Warriors, finally hits the printed page with every pulse-pounding Dragon Punch and bone-crushing Sonic Boom intact, just like it was meant to be!...
