I don't know if there is a thread for this already but I was thinking about the subtleties in the avengers movie (as well as how all the movies have been linked).
Things from the comic put in the movie in a way that still relates back to the comic, like
Hawkeye starting out as a bad guy. Sure in the comics he was a criminal working for the circus/Black Widow. But having him introduced in the Avengers like that reminded me of his comic origin.
Loki tricking the Avengers into bringing Hulk onto the Helecarrier is sort of like how Loki tricked the Hulk and the Avengers into attacking one another in the comic.
So, just like now the movie can say that Hawkeye started as a bad guy like in the comics, the movie can also say that Loki's big plan was to use the Hulk to destroy the Avengers just like in the comics.
Then there is the small ways that all the movies are linked, adding up to the Avengers movie. So I thought here might be a good place to talk about it too.
Iron Man's repulsar blasts make the same sound as Red Skull's Hydra weapons which leads me to believe that Stark's Arc Reactor that his father invented was based on the Cosmic Cube from Asgard (which his father found at the bottom of the ocean in Captain America).
Are there any subtleties you thought were awesome? Small things in the movie that really stood out for you? Made you excited? Somehow linked back to the comic?
