Comics Summer 2011: "Infested" and "Spider-Island"

Ending was great. And basically the MJ/Peter team up was written perfectly. Enough hints to show why they worked great together under the right writer.

Agreed with everybody else, great conclusion. Great characterization with the Spidey/MJ team up, and loved Kaine. Can't wait to see what happens in the epilogue.

Loved Spidey using his brain to save the entire city and potentially the world. :awesome: Epic.

How does Kaine become so wanted by everyone?
Will Brock once again know Pete is Spider-Man?
Why is Kaine acting more like Ben? Though he does still have dark streak in him.
What was Julia going to say before Kaine interrupted her?
Did anyone else feel that this issue was too short?
I thought they said it was double sized.
I also thought Dan was doing 30 page sized issues...

Stay tuned.
I hope not.
When he sacrificed himself in the Grim Hunt, Kaine had an epiphany in regards to Peter being Spider-Man, and it obviously stayed with him once he was released by the Queen's influence.
Who knows. Stay tuned.
I thought the issue read fast. I wanted more.
I don't recall seeing that.
The 30 policy was reduced to standard 22 issues some time ago.... about a year ago...

^ Haha seconded!

Also, loved when Mary Jane said I love you, wallopin' web-snappers ( I lol'd so hard), Mary Jane' nerd up speech too and MORE!

Spidey-island= best story in 20 years. Pretty much...yeah

People keep forgetting Kaine had a change of heart well before Grim Hunt. When he was in prison (right around the beginning of Civil War I think it was), the degeneration almost killed him. His change began around that time. The doctors did what they could to stabilize him and then said it was up to him to fight back if he wanted to live. That is when he forgave Reilly and began to hate Peter more...which is why Kaine helped Raptor during Who Was Ben Reilly?

I thought Kaine hated Ben because he thought Ben was the "real" Peter during the Clone Saga and hated the "real" Peter because the clones would never have his life. He thought Peter was the "clone" and didn't hate him since the "clone" was able to have the normal life Kaine couldn't. But when Kaine learned Ben was always the clone and Peter was always the "real" Peter, he "forgave" Ben and started hated Peter...

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Easily. That last issue made it ove the top awesome for me. Haven't enjoyed an arc this much since the mid-nineties when I first got into spidey.

Really happy that Number Six turned out to be Morbius instead of the Jackal. Can't wait to see how that plays out later.

Here's hoping when Kaine gets his ongoing next year he finally put's Kraven back in the ground.

The story does have it's rough patches along the way, but the last part... part 6... the last 20 pages... well god damn... it's was almost perfect.

It's THE Spider-Man story we've all been waiting to read...

:yay:

Spider-Island almost, *gasp* REDEEMS everything that was bad about the Clone Saga...

Believe it, this coming from a BIG OMD/BND/OMIT basher!

The only thing you might miss, depending on when you stopped reading are the cool threads Slott has picked up in recent continuity!

Let me just add my love for this story! Everything has come together so insanely well! This story used the idea of the Spiders much much better than Grim Hunt. And this story referenced that too! This really pulled all threads going on since Big Time as well as recent continuity (octobots), semi-recent continuity (Queen), and long ranged continuity (Clone Saga).

Spoilers, for Rain's benefit:

I mean Spidey, using octobots (octopus=8 legs, spider=8 legs), to distribute Anti-Venom to the victims? Perfect!

Very interested in seeing where they go with Kaine/Scarlet Spider. I mean are you going to have another guy with Pete's face running around or will he try to pass himself as Ben? Enjoyed the banter between the two, but agree with some that it seems a bit too quick and too soon, considering how Kaine was for all those years.

Of course I loved loved loved the MJ stuff! I loved her speech in what made him special was not being Spider-Man, but being Peter Parker. I really hope this leads to bigger developments!

And as someone who was introduced to Spidey thru the 60's cartoon, gotta love "Wallopun' Web Snappers!" :woot:

And agree, this may be the best Spider-Man story in 20 years!
Mr. Slott, my hat is off to you! :yay:

Aloha,
Been gone a while, working on my fitness and nutrition book. Ditto to all of the comments regarding this arc.But then, we all said that Dan Slott was the man for Spidey and he has proven that over and over again. I'll also be the first to say that I have come to respect and even enjoy Ramos' art. I used to hate it but he has developed into a first rate artist for Spidey.
Spidey rules as always

I'm curious about your feelings on nutrition.
