What's everyone's opinion on Sundays?

When you were a kid, it was the day you dreaded because that meant it was the last day of the weekend and school was the next day, and chances are you had to go to church. And other than The Simpsons, TV wasn't really that great on sunday nights.

But now as an adult, I love Sundays. That's when all the great shows are on, it's the day I get all of my stuff done that I couldn't do during the week, I relax the whole day, and sometimes it's the best day to get some shopping done.

700 Sundays with Billy Crystal. Loved that special. There is a reason that day is more and more special as you get older.

When I was a kid Sundays meant epic journeys through cow pastures to get to church.

I have fond memories :hehe:

I walked fifty miles to church every Sunday as a kid.

Now I drive two miles there.

I work at a school, so I still fall in the category of Sunday being just...the worst. I can never enjoy anything on Sunday because I'm counting down the hours till I have to go to bed.

I lived across the street from the church and my ma would always watch me out our front window to make sure I went to church, but then I met a few friends who came to church without their parents, so we cut outta church by going inside and leaving out the side door... we'd walk about a couple of blocks and just hung out for about a half hour at the local MacDonald's... after the half hour, we'd go back into the church thru the side door and come out the front door with a church bulletin, thereby proving I went to mass... my ma was pretty gullible at the time until someone told her what I was doing... :hehe:

Why wasn't your mom going to church with you?

my folks preferred going to an earlier mass which was about 630 or 7 in the morning... I always like to sleep late and preferred go to the 930 or 1000 morning mass, so that I could cut out of it.... I was never really big on church when I was a kid... and all this happened in the late 60's and earlier 70's when things were QUITE a bit different, when a kid could go out alone anywhere with no worries about something happening to him if he went out by himself or a friend... it was the way of the world back then, unlike now...

Sundays are a long day for me. I go to the early service at 8:15 where I am the one who puts the words up on the screen during worship. And then in the second service I teach Children's church. And then every other week I go to a college age small group after church where we just go out and do something together. Went bowling yesterday.

I'm not religious so church was never an issue for me, thank god (see what I did there?)

Sunday is a day for relaxing, baby.

I'm surprised that Sunday is a day of church mostly, along with watching some good tv shows, but I'm really surprised that during the latter part of the year and start of the new year, no one's mentioned...

FOOTBALL!... what?... holy-rollers only and no tail-gaters?... LOL...

Up until I was 15 sundays meant Church followed by a great home cooked meal or eating out at a nice restaurant and then homework. Nowadays Sundays means TV and or reading a book. Heck thats pretty much my whole weekend every weekend.:awesome: Ever since I graduated tho Sunday is my official lazy day. Friends know not to even call me on Sunday cause I dont pick up my phone or answer texts. The only exception being for emergencies.
