Yo..for those of you that are in or close to a city that has hosted the Super Bowl, have you ever gone and actually gotten into the game?

Never been to a SB, but I've been smack dab in the middle of the goings on leading up to the game.

Me too, a few years ago here in Houston. HATED IT....

It was a good Superbowl but I don't rank them anywhere near the past 2.

What I didn't like was most of the media, almost trying to make me feel bad for rooting for the Colts instead of the Saints because of Katrina.

I am happy for New Orleans to win something for their city.

But Shockey is still an a'hole.

The thing that I don't get it I seriously doubt that any of this money will go to the victims of Katrina. So in about 3 weeks. Everything will be back to exactly the way it was.

To only people this is good for is the NFL, & the Saints.

If the Super Bowl had been on NBC this year and CBS last year, every commercial break would have basically been NBC using the Super Bowl to promote the 2010 Winter Olympics.

That would have been hysterical if millions would have been donated to those still affected from Katrina CONTINGENT on the Saints winning. :hehe:

No. That **** is for the tourists, the locals just get annoyed by all the strange people in our city.

Last nights Super Bowl was the most watched televison program in history. It surpasses the series finale of M*A*S*H.

Surprising, but good, news about the viewership. Didn't see that coming, even with last year's game having the previous record.

Maybe the relevant braintrust will get over themselves and get rid of this looming cloud of a potential lockout.

They could always just use replacement players.

Keanu Reeves and Orlando Jones don't have a lot going on right now, do they? :hehe:

This is how you know there will be no lock out, NFL popularity just continues to explode.

People were shocked when last years game beat the Pats Giants game...and now it gets topped again.

and this makes Payton and Brees made men in NO now...Sean Payton could kill a hooker during the parade tomorrow and no one would care...they would just cover her in beads

Bradshaw isn't in my top 7. Won a bunch of rings with arguably the best defense ever. Manning trumps his numbers as do most.

Elway
Montana
Marino
Unitas
Peyton
Brady

People don't give Terry Bradshaw the respect he deserves. He was the 1978 NFL MVP and won 2 Super Bowl MVP's. The Steelers won Super Bowl XIII 35-31, so the defense didn't come into play there. Bradshaw threw 4 TD's during that game. Super Bowl 14 he threw for over 300yds and 2 TD's and won 31-19. So, IMO, Bradshaw is a top 5 quarterback.

I thought I'd gotten over the whole Brees/Culpepper fiasco. But now Brees has a ring that he won on our home turf, Saban went undefeated after snaking us … give me a reason why I shouldn't jump off the Biscayne bridge.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only Dolphins fan to have a similar thought process after the hoopla died down. Of course, I wouldn't entertain jumping off a bridge (I mean too much to too many people ...most importantly, me). However, I did have a particularly rousing and extended profane diatribe, in which I addressed Nick Saban, Daunte Culpepper, Randy Mueller and several members of their families. No, I don't feel any better.

****.

I'm sure Saints' winning their first SB (on the back of MVP Brees) does sting alot. I for one thought that Brees (even after letting go by the Chargers) would've made an excellent QB with the Jets as well, even though they had Pennington (who was injury-prone and now likely out of NFL). Too bad Jets never went for it. If Brees had the #1 defense & running offensive of the Jets today, he might've represent the AFC in the SB this year as well.

So, did anyone else find Caldwell's coaching to be atrocious? I get that he is little more than Manning's puppet, but still. The man has absolutely no balls as a head coach. Peyton Manning had a full two minutes on the clock and two time outs at the end of the first half, and Caldwell calls three, up the middle runs in an attempt to burn the clock out. I get that they were deep in their own territory, but hell, Manning led a 95 yard drive the quarter before. Plus they were out of safety risk after the first run. His conservative play calling enabled the Saints to get great field position and get that second field goal which completely changed the momentumn. Imagine how dejected the Saints would've been, going into the half, if the Colts had just scored. Caldwell coached like a coward and I think that had a big impact.

Caldwell must have known the Colts needed to score more than 10 points to win the game. I think he just assumed that they where going to get the ball first in the 2nd half(which blew up in his face) and Peyton would just score again. Think the game might be out of reach. Oh and Drew Brees could not be stopped.

The Saints had the best offense in football, not the Colts. Yeah I get why the media loves Peyton so much, but he is one player. He still needs other players to step up, and no one did. Not their defense, not their special teams, not Wayne not Garcon, only player who had a good game was Clark and Addai(which Im sure the saints had no problem given up yards to).

The saints played to win, the colts played not to lose.

BRUTAL...Thems the brakes. Not the worst COLTS beat, but they nearly had it...Sean Peyton threw a wrench on the well oiled machine. That onside threw it all off, N.O. had the momentum after the half, and then...

18 fell apart.

EXCELLENT season, but it stings, SB runner up was bound to happen.

Congrats Drew Brees. I can't stomach all the Saints love fest, but losing to that group isn't a bad beat IMO. Good game.
