Thought I would go ahead and make this before I get lost in Skyrim and forget. :funny:

As always, just because I'm posting this now doesn't mean you have to vote immediately. There are still a few notable games that have yet to be released, and this is going to be stickied for months, so there's no rush.

Also, feel free to post and discuss other sites' game of the year stuff in here if you wish.

Yea I'm gonna wait til I play revelations before I vote, and I still need to finish dark souls and arkham city

I would go ahead and vote for Arkham City, but dammit, I gotta at least play through Skyrim first, altho if its like any of Bethesdas other games, i won't finish until sometime within the next 8 to 12 months.

Yeah, I want to vote for Uncharted 3, but I want to try Skyrim first, and now after seeing IGN's review for Skyward Sword, I feel compelled to try that out too.

Crysis 2 was stunning to look at, but I'll hold off voting until Assassins Creed Revelations comes out.

The game I have enjoyed and played the most of is Total War: Shogun 2. Although i'v not played too much of Skyrim, i'v fell through the scenery twice and the interface is almost un-usable with a mouse keyboard. Dues Ex: HR AI basically ruined the game, it's some of the worst AI I have seen. The low quility compressed pre-rendered cut-scenes also looked bad. Portal 2 although design wise flawless, had a pre-rendered Press X to win game Call Of Duty ending, it was anoying and pretty crap compared to the originals ending. It's also a step backwords for Valve, in the developer commentry they outright admit it was out of lazyness. I already know Arkham City uses pre-rendered cut-scenes, so thats pretty much not GOTY. Serous Sam 3 will probably be fun. So, I think for me it will probably be Shogun 2, followed by Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, Sonic Generations and Sonic and Knuckles 3 which I just finished recently and never had the chance to play when it was originally out. It's actually kind of amazing how well it's holds up. Solid gameplay is solid gameplay. Sonic Generations is also a very cheap game, the value for money was very good.

Edit: Battlefield 3, awful SP, MP is more interested in unlocking stuff than being a team game. Over-hyped. Over-rated e.t.c...

I still have a lot of those games to play, so I will reserve my vote for later.

I'll wait a few months to play some more games, too, but for now I'm gonna have to go with "Other," since Forza Motorsport 4 isn't on the list. That game eats up most of my free time, even though DCU Online may compete once the servers quit getting bombarded.

I swear you just pick games and say they are good because no one else plays them. I mean dont you get tired of being a cliche? Its easy to figure out which games are good by just reading your posts. The games you claim are "poor" tend to be the complete opposite. You actually make finding worthwhile games so much easier, so for that, on behalf of gamers all over this board, we thank you.

I haven't played many games from this year. I have Arkham City and it's awesome but still has some flaws (pretty minor though). From what I've seen of Uncharted 3, I think that would be the game I'd love the most. I have Uncharted 2 and it's my favourite game.

I will never want to even touch Skyrim because those kind of games make me sick. But I can tell that from all the love it gets, it will probably win. I just hate those kind of games.

I would want to vote for Uncharted 3 but that would be stupid of me since I haven't even played it. And while I love Arkham City, I don't think it would deserve a GOTY. So I'll simply keep myself from voting here.

Hahaha too true! But you know, he's all cool and hardcore and stuff ;) And he wants all girls to be masculine...........

The only games I still have to get for this year are Uncharted 3 and MW3, since I don't care for Skyrim either. It'll certainly be between U3 and Arkham City, but yeah, I will wait until I play U3 before I vote.

''lol''

Apparently, you didn't play it, or didn't pay attention.

I probably shouldn't be surprised it's gotten the most votes but I never thought of it as GOTY material. It was fun but I enjoyed Arkham Asylum more.

I've gotta admit, I would be a little upset if Arkham City won. I mean it was great and all, but i felt the same disappointment afterwards that I felt with inFamous 2 in that I finished everything so quickly that I was left expecting more when I was done. At least with Uncharted, I felt like a lot more happened in the same amount of playing time and it left more of a lasting impression overall.

Skyrim is not an option ? Other is my choice for Skyrim. Skyrim fans pick other for Skyrim. Make Batman cry

Not my fault you missed it. Lol.

I predict this will be SHH! GOTY 2009 thread all over again with Batman winning it.

Perhaps I should have waited til the end of the year (or at least until I had given AS:R and Skyrim a go) but I couldn't wait so I chose Portal 2. I just think it's a game that could have been so easy to get wrong, so easy to phone it in but they didn't and they didn't follow anyone else's rules either.

That alone deserves to be applauded.

Am I the only one who thinks of Skyrim fans to pretty much look like this?

But even lamer? I'm sorry to offend you guys but Skyrim really feels like a typical "turn off the lights and turn into an antisocial 12-year old" game. You know, like the most addicted WoW gamers who just can't behave like normal people.

I HATE those kind of people and those kind of games. So I really hope Skyrim won't win the official GOTY award. Attack me now for all you want, this is what I think.

I'm pretty sure my vote is going to go to Unch-- NO!!!

Believe it or not, right now my vote is going to a different game?! Potentially my new favorite game of... ALL TIME.

What is this mystery game? Well you'll have to wait until post-Christmas to find out (unless I get impatient), because I want to A. complete said game and B. Beat Zelda and Skyrim which I'm saving for the holidays.
