Alright, as the three who were present last Saturday know, I'll be handling GM duties this week for the DC game. I've never done it before, so the only way to entice me and get my brain going on a scenario was to make it a Gotham centric one. Big shock, I know.

You can try and play DC characters, but I'd really prefer if street-level vigilantes/sidekicks were used to keep things simple and up the stakes. And Batman himself is gonna be unavailable for play, for reasons I'll explain here...

Batman is missing. A little over a week ago, The Dark Knight went silent while investigating a series of chemical based murders perpetrated by The Joker during a citywide crisis. With no Batman to arrive and stop him, The Clown Prince of Crime disappointedly turned himself into the GCPD, sparking a series of spectulatory concerns from Gotham City citizens that their hero had disappeared. Even those closest to him, such as faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth, have been unable to locate his tracker's signal ever since it went offline somewhere near The Narrows. Some of the city's vigilantes such as Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin, Huntress, Oracle and Batgirl have been patrolling the island nonstop in search.

One week later, and his signal's just become active again. But despite Alfred's attempts to contact him, Batman is unresponsive to any communications link or even the Bat-Signal, which Commissioner Gordon keeps lit in the hopes that he'll answer the call. With the assumption that he is somehow incapacited, Alfred assembles "the family" to come up with a plan of action to locate Batman and bring him back.

But is it too late? Is this The Caped Crusader's final hour, with an active beacon merely there to taunt those hopeful in his safe return? And even if he's still alive, who was responsible for his disappearance in the first place? Only one hint remains tied to the perpetrator: a recent mass breakout at Arkham Asylum has left some of it's more infamous patients on the loose, and most have yet to be recaptured. And with the rumors of Batman's demise, they're running amok.

With members of teams such as the JLA and Outsiders either unresponsive or too busy to help out, it's up to only the closest aligned to the Bat to find him and stop the chaos before Gotham burns.

Who's up for this? It's a one-time thing, and I don't know who's GMing next week, but I figured since we just did an all Suicide Squad campaign, doing an all Gotham one would be kind of neat too.

One question does it have to be a member of the bat-family only...or can it be a street level character...not saying it's a deal-breaker...just wondering.

No powers or limited powers, wieg. Long as it's not someone that can go toe-to-toe with one of the heavies on the League, I think I'd be fine with out-of-towners. Hell, Byrd wants The Question and I'm allowing that.

Which should answer your question aswell, MST. Long as you give them a proper reason to go to Gotham.

It would be the Outsiders Owlman, but I'd use the stats for the CSA version since the books don't have the Outsiders one.

Those are some excellent choices, wieg.

So, if nobody plans on playing Damian, can I play Tim as Robin instead? That way I don't really have to change anything from the sheet.

You wouldn't really have to change anything from the sheet either way. Tim is in the book as both RR and Robin, and from what I saw, the stats are virtually the same.

If it's honestly just an identity preference, though, pick whichever you want. Tim could still be Robin because I still have Dick as Nightwing. And I wrote Damian as an NPC into the game, but I didn't specifically mention he was Robin. He could still be in his pre-vigilante stage at this point, running around in his training gear.

So, yeah, MB crapped out on us tonight. Said some **** came up. It happens. Sorry if I haven't been online, but I've been working on an idea for a custom game we can maybe play in the future.
