What many people have not known yet is that IMDB has the trailer to the first of the DC DTVs up now. Unlike the previous DC-related trailers (The Batman vs Dracula, Superman: Brainiac Attacks), the trailer seels you on the movie, and not the extras.

Now before you play it, there are some things you might need to know. First off, go here to play it from IMDB:

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0934706/trailers-screenplay-E32340-10-2

But if that does not work, you may need to download VLC player. You can download it here, under "Download VLC":

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Then once you have it (its a good player to have) right click this link and play it:

http://www.totaleclips.com/player/player.aspx?custid=102&clipid=E32340&bitrateid=10&playerid=33&formatid=2

Hopefully, someone who sees this can somehow convert it to a wmv/avi file to be played by WMP.

But anyway, enjoy.

Wow, this looks freakin' awesome. Must have!!

WOW!
I can't wait to see it. Looks great. When is is out on DVD? I HAVE to buy it!
Wonder if they will include the Supermen story line that had Vindicator, Steel, Superboy, and Cyborg Superman, as well as the black suited Superman.

Really, i can't wait. Makes me want to see New Fraontier even more.

It looks awesome but i get no sound:csad: Is this getting a UK release ?

Anyone know where I can find screen caps or some art from it or something?

Looks good.

But did they REALLY have to use the long hair Superman? Looks even dorkier than in the comics

That looks awesome! I checked the trailer, and as a huge fan of the Timmverse of DCAU, I'm really looking forward to this treat.

The DTV will be release on September 18th, 2007.

thanks for the screen caps.
Awesome.
Still want to buy it, right now.

Now it seems like these are toys or if they are sculptures for the animators, the designs were changed a little more. I heard toys had been made already.

Anyone know if there is any new stuff about New Frontier? Like toys or a trailer?

I get that the minimalistic sketchy look is Timm's thing, but honestly, I'm kinda disappointed. I expected they'd seriously up the ante on the animation, but judging from that trailer, it's only a slight improvement over the regular JLU look.

That does look pretty good. Seems to have a grand/epic feel. Can't wait for it.

Crappy trailer, but it doesn't make me any less excited about the movie. Gonna be great.

Whats the deal with Superman in the black costume. I remember seeing him pop up when there were like 4 different supes after his death, I think the other 4 were Eradicator, Superboy and Steel and I know about them. Whats the black costumes story.

I like it, but I might as well state what both hyped me and what irked me starting with the negative first...

Cons:

-Why does Superman have to have an aged look? The craggy lines on his face look like a bad attempt at making him look older than his TAS counterpart for no apparent reason, and doesn't come off well in the black suited Supes either (where it would be more appropriate if used).

-What the heck happened to Luthor's design? Forget super-breath, anybody could wheeze on him and blow him away.

-Supes using a gun looks even cornier than when he used it in the comics.

Pros:

-They got Superman's build exactly the way I like to see him. The one thing about Timm's earlier designs was that the jaw and chest looked cartoonish in a bad respect. In this incarnation he looks powerful without looking exaggerated.

-A subway fight between the two is just dandy for a fan of the Smith script treatment (sans the crazy Peters additions, of course).

-Lois finally looks the way she should. Really nothing else to say on that front, though it's slightly irking how she contrasts from this version of Clark. I like how she doesn't even notice getting cut as the glass rains down.

-Doomsday looks exactly as he should with all contrasts to Superman present, though he looks a little like his watered-down version (which isn't bad, as from a look POV the previous animated Doomsday wasn't lamentable at all).

Overall, I'm buying this film if it proves to be as good as the trailer shows it to be. Most of my gripes are very small and just a different visual interpretation from what I'd like to see. As some have said, it looks as epic as it need be.

I think it will be a good movie but i just wish they upped the animation style to something along the lines of the avenger movies released by marvel.

I'm inclined to agree with you - more realistic looks to character builds is my preference as well. Also, why can't they give Superman real eyes? Why do they always stick him with those little black dots?

Still, the overall effect of the trailer if not the animation is decent.

Back when this project was first announced I was sooooo excited. But the details that have come forth since then...plus this trailer have dampened my spirits considerably.

First, this is an all different continuity than S: TAS and JLU. But it looks almost identical...granted there are a couple of redesigns, but on the whole, it's still Timm style animation. This is a new project and a new continuity...so it should have a new look as well.

Second, the Death and Return of Superman was really epic. And with a runtime of 70 minutes, I'm afraid that they'll have to leave out much of what made the story so cool...specifically the "Reign of the Supermen." I was so excited thinking that we'll get to see the Cyborg, Steel, & the Eradicator. (I'd like to see Superboy too, but thanks to the legal issues, I knew the odds of that happening going in...) I could be totally wrong, and perhaps they will be touched on...but without even a hint of them in the trailer, and Timm mentioning how much they had to trim out of the story, I'm fearing the worst.

But I'm not passing any kind of judgment until I actually see it. These are just my preliminary vibes going in. My expectations have been lowered quite a bit from that initial announcement, but I'm still hoping to enjoy it.

I too wish it was in DCUA continuity, but it prolly wouldnt work as well since of what they did with Doomsday in JLU.
